Korean Films To Watch For FREE At 2022 Korean Film Festival

Seven Korean films will be shown throughout the festival on the large screens of select SM theatres. All free movie tickets will be distributed on a “first come, first served” basis.

Deliver Us From Evil

An assassin (HWANG Jungmin) travels to Thailand to investigate a kidnapping case involving him, only to be pursued by a man (LEE Jungjae) whose sibling he murdered.

Escape From Mogadishu

Diplomats from North and South Korea, both stationed in Somalia at the time of the civil war in 1991, turned to one another to escape Mogadishu.

Snowball

Kang-Yi, age 18, values her friends So-young and Ah-ram above all else. Wanting to travel abroad, she runs away with them, only to discover a strange side to each of them and a strange shift in the balance of their friendship. Although they left the house as one, they ultimately returned as three. Kang-Yi desires nothing more than to return to their previous state, but this is easier said than done.

The Day I Died : Unclosed Case

A young girl vanishes on an island during a stormy night, leaving her shoes on a cliff and her will in her home. Due to the poor weather, a body has not yet been discovered. Without a body, the case cannot be resolved and is dismissed as a suicide. The detective, Hyun-soo, travels to the island to investigate the girl’s death.

Miracle : Letters to the President

The movie “The Miracle” is based on an actual event. The film is set in the 1980s and tells the story of high school math prodigy Jun Kyung. He and his older sister reside in the unpaved countryside of North Gyeongsang Province. With the assistance of his girlfriend, Ra Hee, he collaborates with Bo Kyung and the villagers to construct a train station.

Following a best-selling author mired in a rut, he meets a young aspiring author who confesses his love for him.

On August 11, Filipino moviegoers will meet the Korean and Filipino film directors HONG Wonchan, LEE Woojung, Joey Reyes, and Maria Paiso.
