7 Things ARMY Can Look Forward to in “BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star”
BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, a docuseries premiering exclusively on Disney+ today, December 20, offers a real and honest look at BTS’s ten-year journey from unknown underdogs to the world’s biggest group today.
The members have always been candid about their behind-the-scenes experiences, from every aspect of Bangtan Bombs to the yearly Memories DVD compilation. Even with hours of video, there are still certain things that fans haven’t seen. BTS’ ARMY will be able to witness never-before-seen archival video and exclusive new interviews with RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook in this docuseries, which wonderfully encapsulates the band’s past, present, and future.
Here are some of the things ARMY are looking forward to seeing in BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star.

Practice videos
It’s common for K-pop groups to film themselves during dance practices in order to check their performance from the audience’s point of view. With a decade in the business, BTS naturally has a ton of video in their vault. Based on the previews for BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, we can expect additional practice videos and possibly some pre-release content!
Members’ graduations
Most ARMYs are acquainted with Jung Kook’s graduation ceremony Bangtan Bomb, which included all of BTS’s members. Fans will also see snippets of the other members’ graduation days, particularly RM’s, in BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star. While only one member has been confirmed thus far, ARMY is eager to see the other members’ graduation ceremonies.
Early showcases
BTS used to perform at tiny gigs and meet a few of fans before selling out big stadiums and flying to different cities across the world. They frequently had to take brief sleeps in a cramped van while bouncing from event to event throughout South Korea. ARMY will be able to view more video from those simpler times thanks to BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star.
Old dorm moments
During their early years, the seven members of BTS shared one small room measuring 17 tsubo or pyeong (about 56 square meters). It’s all too familiar and nostalgic for ARMY: it’s the location where BTS celebrated their first debut anniversary. There aren’t many videos from that era, but based on a promo clip of RM and V playing with a gaming console in their old dorm, it appears they’ll be releasing never-before-seen footage.
Stories behind the selfies
As evidenced by the plethora of content on their social media profiles, BTS members enjoy posting group shots and selfies with their fans. BTS frequently tells the story behind the photographs they share to connect with the ARMY. This time, viewers may get behind-the-scenes footage of some images! In one trailer sequence, Jimin explains to the camera how he ended up taking a popular selfie in 2013.
That one fan meeting in 2013
In case you didn’t know, BTS organized a little fan meeting in 2013 to celebrate Christmas as well as Jin and V’s birthdays. Fans were not permitted to bring cameras to the event, but BigHit did capture it, albeit footage remains elusive. While the teasers released so far have given little indication of this event, many ARMYs (including ourselves!) are anticipating that HYBE and BigHit will finally show the public genuine video from this event.
Locked down
BTS’s encouraging and upbeat songs “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” and “Permission to Dance” brought much-needed light and life to the rest of the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. But ARMYs would understand how tough that time was for the members due to the cancellation of the “Map of the Soul Tour” and the hardship of performing in front of their fans, especially at the height of their popularity. The footage from that era may make fans cry, but the ARMY will undoubtedly tune in even if their vision is blurred by tears.
