‘BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star’ docuseries on Disney+

Following a successful 2022 Disney+ debut with BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, the twenty-first century musical icons BTS will return to the domain of acclaimed Korean content on December 20, exclusively on Disney+, with BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, an eight-part documentary series.

BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star will provide audiences with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, performances, interviews, and performances with RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. It will offer a comprehensive exploration of the band’s ten-year career, showcasing their triumphs and tribulations in an engaging documentary series format.

Additionally, HYBE Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and BEYOND THE STORY make appearances. BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, authored by Kang Myeongseok, provides a retrospective analysis of the band’s pivotal moments throughout its decade-long history. It details the group’s formation, preparations for their debut, winning best new artist at the 2013 Melon Music Awards, challenges encountered during the “Danger” period, initial concerts attended, debuts at the American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, and the experience of becoming a household name.

The forthcoming documentary series will also present intimate moments from their past, such as the sentiments they shared upon first meeting; the process of renewing their contract; the challenges they faced while isolating during COVID-19; and more humorous events, such as Jung Kook’s high school graduation and j-hope’s surprise birthday party.

Disney+ also revealed the titles of each of the eight segments of the documentary series today, providing viewers with a preview of what to anticipate from each episode:

BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, which is scheduled to premiere on December 20 with a two-episode run and two new episodes being added every Wednesday, will join an extensive library of must-see BTS content on Disney+, which includes: BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA is an exclusive cinematic 4K concert film that chronicles BTS’ November 2021 live performance at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. SUGA: Road to D-DAY is an enlightening documentary that tracks the journey of BTS member SUGA as he searches for musical inspiration for his latest album D-DAY across the globe, from Seoul to Tokyo and Las Vegas and beyond; j-hope IN THE BOX is a behind-the-scenes documentary that reveals how j-hope created his debut solo album, Jack In The Box; and IN THE SOOP: Friendcation is an original travel reality show featuring a star-studded cast, including V of BTS, Itaewon Class’ Park Seojun, and Parasite.

BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star will additionally be included in an expanding assortment of critically acclaimed Korean content that is presently accessible on Disney+.
