Bukhansan Mountain: Must-Visit Hiking Spot In Korea
Bukhansan Mountain is surrounded by cities and stretches along the northern edge of Seoul. “Bukhansan” is a name that means “north of the Han river.” This famous river runs through the middle of Seoul and is a major landmark.
Since hiking is so prevalent in Korea, it’s not surprising that over 5 million people visit Bukhansan National Park every year. It’s a must-see for anyone going to Seoul.
There are different levels of hiking trails, from Easy to Expert. These trails are suitable for all hikers or people who want to spend a day in nature in Seoul.
Bukhansan Mountain is made up of big granite rocks with sharp peaks. These peaks can be seen everywhere in Seoul, depending on how dirty the air is.
At 836m, Baegundae Peak is the highest point. Insubong (810m) and Mangyeongdae are the next two highest points (787m). Even if you don’t hike often, you should still put Bukhansan on your Korea bucket list because it’s a great place to spend a day. After hiking Bukhansan, you can treat yourself to some Soju and a Korean BBQ.
