Ms Sam Oh introduced the group to the media that the ENHYPHEN name is inspired by the hyphen (–). Similar to punctuation, ENHYPEN’s lofty objective is to unite the world via music.
During the press conference, the band discussed their humble beginnings and current status. Leader Jungwon stated, “We are from a reality show,” referring to I-LAND. ”
He shared that they differ in a variety of ways, like the way they sing and do choreographies. Their enticing qualities are all different. Additionally, he revealed that when ENYPHEN took the stage, they united and became one unit. And that’s the biggest strength that they have as a group.
ENHYPEN shared that their commitment to music is motivated by the support they receive from ENGENEs. They are their primary source of inspiration and motivation to continue advancing.
Jay revealed that he hopes to visit Cebu with his family one day. He also says, “As an artist, you cannot just stay wherever you are. If you just capture yourself and block yourself to possibilities, you’re not able to satisfy your fans”.
He also added that this is also the reason why they continuously try different genres and styles to keep exploring so fans can discover new sides of themselves
Jake and Jungwon of ENHYPEN appeared to enjoy themselves when they posed a question to their group’s senior member, Heeseung.
ENHYPEN stated that they aspired to create a global impact with their music, citing their HYBE labelmates BTS as one of their main musical influences. Sunoo responded, “Performance-wise, I would say BTS is my role model and biggest musical inspiration. And naturally, as a group, we’ll do our best and expend more effort to have such influence and a musical performance of this caliber.”
In February 2023, ENHYPEN will perform two concerts in the Philippines as part of the Asia leg of their MANIFESTO tour.
Following their North American tour, the group will be performing in Asia for the first time. The tour is in honour of their most recent mini-album, MANIFESTO: DAY 1, which marked the beginning of a new musical era for ENHYPEN. On six tracks, the ‘ParadoXXX Invasion’ act explored new genres and intricate narratives about discovering their purpose.
