A 2.3-kilometre ropeway is used by the Cheongpung Cable Car to take people between Multae-ri in Cheongpung-myeon and Bibongsan Mountain. There are a total of 43 cabins can hold up to 10 people each. Ten of these cabins have clear floors that give passengers a thrilling view of Cheongpung-myeon from above.

The cable car speeds 5 meters per second and takes about 10 minutes to get from the starting point to the top of Bibongsan Mountain. It can carry up to 15,000 people per day. The peak of Bibongsan Mountain is in the middle of Cheongpungho Lake. It is 531 meters high. From the top, it looks like you are looking down on an island chain. With the cable car, kids and older people can see the view without hiking up to the top.

You don’t need to to hike to get to one of the best views in South Korea from the Cheongpung Lake Cable Car. Majority of the cable cars take you higher up the mountain so you can start your hike, but this one takes you straight to the end point.

The CINEMA 360 Dome is right in front of the Cheongpung Cable Car station. The CINEMA 360 lets you see the lake from different angles and gives you more information about the area’s history. Inside, you can buy a ticket to go to the CINEMA 360 and the Cable Car ride.

Take the short ride up, where no more than six people can fit in each cabin, and take in the view. People will primarily look at the houses below as they ride.

Observation platform

At the top, you can see everything around you in every direction. In the area, you can see Jecheon Lake, bridges, Woraksan National Park, and many smaller mountains.

The observation platform has three levels, so finding a good spot to take a picture is easy without other people getting in the way. Hang out against the railing for a while and look at the view.

Most Korean tourists are interested in art, so they crowd around the photo spots. The best way to deal with this is to take a picture of them from above.

People can easily spend more than an hour up there, and it was hard to get them to leave the viewing platform. People can also see the Danyang Dodamsambong Peaks and the Guinsa Temple by taking the cable car down.

We don’t think it’s a good idea to go to Cheongpung Lake Cable Car when it’s too cloudy or foggy. Even when it’s cloudy, the view won’t be too bad, but it won’t be as pretty.

Cheongpung Lake Monorail

You can also take the Cheongpung Lake Monorail () to the lookout point and the cable car down. The Monorail has a track that is three kilometers long and takes about 23 minutes to get to the top of Bibongsan Mountain. A little bit west of the Cable Car station is where the Monorail starts.

How To Get There
