Newest Medical Korean Drama Doctor Slump is now streaming on Netflix
The Netflix medical drama Doctor Slump is perfect for fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope. Romance stories are famous for featuring rivals or enemies falling in love with each other. This type of storyline has been seen in some of the best K-dramas of all time, from fantasy shows where enemies fight each other to more traditional settings, in which “enemies” can simply mean people who dislike each other.
Many genres and formats are represented among Netflix’s best K-dramas, but romantic comedies dominate the platform’s catalog. As a result, it can be difficult to decide which K-drama to watch next. This highly anticipated 2024 K-drama, Doctor Slump, is a great pick for viewers looking for a new series that falls into the enemies-to-lovers category.
There are two timelines in Doctor Slump – the high school years of Jeong-woo and Ha-neul as well as present day. During high school, Jeong-woo and Ha-neul were sworn enemies due to their fierce rivalry over the best of class award. It used to be that Jeong-woo was the best student in his school by a wide margin, but that changed as soon as Ha-neul arrived in Seoul and joined his class.
The study routine of Jeong-woo was more traditional than that of Ha-neul, who studied whenever he could. Aside from this difference in approach to life, they also shared a number of other differences.
In spite of the fact that they became rivals and acted as if they couldn’t stand each other, it became clear that Jeong-woo and Ha-neul started liking each other. The two never saw each other after high school, and things never developed.
After several years, Ha-neul and Jeong-woo accidentally reunite in one of their worst moments. Jeong-woo is being accused of medical negligence during surgery, and Ha-neul is burned out from her job at a hospital. With no solid plans for the future, Doctor Slump’s characters feel closer than they have ever been.

Since Ha-neul and Jeong-woo share the same rooftop, the story of this enemies-to-lovers K-drama also becomes one of “…and they were roommates.” type of drama. According to the trailer for the series, Jeong-woo and Ha-neul will gradually return to their feelings for each other as their relationship develops.
Not only because they have known each other since high school, but also because they can relate to what each other is experiencing professionally, they are set to become safe harbors for each other.
With romance, comedy, and even a murder mystery, Doctor Slump is an enjoyable show to watch.
