New Clark City: The Best Place To Invest In Tourism
The Department of Tourism (DOT) wants the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) and New Clark City to grow so that the tourism industry in the country can continue to improve.
During the 1st Central Luzon Tourism Investment Summit and Business Exchange Hybrid Edition, which was recently held at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort, the Department of Tourism (DOT), along with the TPB and SCAD, showed how CFZ and the New Clark City could be positioned as premier tourism hubs, with Clark as a modern, sustainable metropolis and a preferred MICE.
DOT 3 Regional Director goal is to make the Clark Freeport Zone a popular place for business and tourism in the Asia-Pacific region, with the help of the private sector, so that investors can get long-term economic returns.
Clark’s location in the province of Pampanga facilitates the travel of tourists from China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
At the summit, there were a total of 35 investors from the Philippines (5), China (25), Singapore (2), Japan (1), Taiwan (1), and the United Arab Emirates (1). At the end of the event, 77 buyers and sellers met for Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, where most of the P127 million investment leads were made.
As of December 31, 2021, 1,153 companies, also called locators, were already based in Clark. These businesses gave jobs to 121,341 professionals and workers in the Freeport zone, which had only 20,000 people working there when it first opened.
With a total investment of P265 billion, CFZ has now exported $5.40 billion worth of goods. Puyat said that the recent opening of the new passenger terminal at Clark International Airport would bring more gains to the industry. This is especially true now that the DOT is promoting Clark as a MICE destination.
Uy said that as a MICE venue, CFZ has 80 convention/meeting halls, 3,648 hotel rooms, 126 restaurants, and 45 tourist attractions like Clark International Speedway and Dinosaurs Island. Clark Safari, Clark Bike Path, Aqua Planet, Clark Museum and Theater,
