GOT7’s Park Jinyoung Talks About His Career & Future Plans At The Press Conference In Manila
South Korean singer-actor Park Jinyoung held a press conference prior to his fan concert titled ‘Rendezvous: Secret Meeting Between You And Me” at the New Frontier Theater.
Hours before the fanconcert, the Korean Actor & Idol Park Jinyoung warmly greeted the media before the event. Jinyoung expressed his excitement to his fans in the Philippines, “I want to thank Philippines Ahgase for waiting for me for such a long time although I was not able to come here for a long time. To make up for the years that we have not met, I want to communicate with the fans by always showing new aspects of me. And thank you always, and I will most definitely come back.”he said through an interpreter.
Acting Career
GOT7’s Park Jinyoung revealed the aspect of himself that has changed the most since his debut is the way he speaks 10 yrs ago. He said, “I used to talk in dialect but now I use more of the Seoul dialect“. Jinyoung also added that he had become taller and developed more muscles compared to his early days in the industry.
Jinyoung debuted as an actor in 2012, playing in several Korean dramas such as ‘The Devil Judge,’ ‘Yumi’s Cells,’ and ‘Christmas Carol,’ to name a few. When asked which role he had the most difficulty portraying, Jinyoung replied, “Honestly, I can’t say which character was the most challenging because some of them appear simple from the beginning.”
He revealed that the character that he portrayed in the webtoon-based drama ‘The Witch’ was challenging to perform, but he did his best to portray the character well.
When asked about what kind of projects do he wish to undertake. Jinyoung responded that the kind of roles that he desire to portray is similar to his age. “I want to play all the roles because even though all characters look similar, each actor have their own charm to act out the roles.“, he said.
He also revealed that he recently met Lee Byung Hun, a senior actor whom he respects. Jinyoung stated that such interactions fill him with happiness and gratitude, he said ” To be honest, juniors like us have a lot of seniors that we look up to, and we slowly have more opportunities to meet them. And every time, I meet them, I feel happy“.
Being soloist
When questioned about the best aspect of pursuing a career as a solo artist, he believes that, aside from the shorter preparation time, nothing else differs. Jinyoung said, “Preparation time is short. Just 40 minutes. With the team, 2 hours and half. Too short. That is all (That is the only best thing)”. He also admitted that being with the other members is certainly more fun, but there are times that he feels lonely.
Future plans
As the latest GOT7 member to have a show in the Philippines. Jinyoung expressed that he was thrilled to be able to interact with the fans who are waiting for them after performing in various countries. He was touched how passionate the Filo Ahgases who have patiently waiting for the GOT7’s return in the country.
“I really want to come back and I really want to show my gratitude towards the fans who are always waiting, and I really wish to have a concert again together with my GOT7 members in the Philippines and have a fun performance.“, Jinyoung said.
