Got7 is a J.Y.P. Entertainment boyband that debuted in 2014 with seven members, namely JB (leader), Jackson, Mark, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. The group have released numerous albums and singles, some of which have reached the top of the charts. Each of them brings out a different personality and characteristics, making Got7 highly unique, especially considering they have three non-Korean members!

Yugyeom is known to be cheerful, often smiling, and thoughtful. Along with the other GOT7 members, he was featured in the web drama “Dream Knight” (2015). Aside from this, here are the 8 interesting facts about him.

Yugyeom was born in South Korea but he was raised in Saudi Arabia.

Yugyeom once stated in Saudi Arabia that his mother was pregnant. His mother gave birth to him in Seoul, but his father’s job required them to return to Saudi Arabia. Yugyeom grew up there for a long time before moving to Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, his hometown.

Yugyeom is sometimes misidentified as the group’s eldest member

Maknae, which translates to “youngest member of a K-pop group,” is one of the nicknames given to him by fans and Got7 members. Despite being the youngest member of Got7, Yugyeom is the tallest. And because of his mature appearance, many people mistake him for the eldest member at first glance.

Yugyeom won 1st place in the famous dance competition show “Hit The Stage.”

In 2016, he appeared on the famous dance competition show Hit The Stage. He not only drew recognition for his incredible dance abilities, but he also won in the final episode. Yugyeom appeared in episode 10, the season’s final episode, with the theme “Final.” He competed against SNSD’s Hyoyeon,N.C.T.’s Ten , Monsta X’s Shownu, Block B’s U-Kwon, and I.O.I.’s Chungha this time.

Yugyeom demonstrated his dance abilities in a fantastic performance and made tremendous progress, winning first place with 8 points from the judges and 163 points from the public. As a result, Got7 members began referring to him as “Hit The Stage Yugyeom.”

GOT7 Members gave him the nickname “Dance Machine.”

Yugyeom has always had a passion for dancing and considers Chris Brown to be one of his role models. He loves to dance since childhood which makes him specialise in it especially, street dance like krumping, house dance, and popping but he actually likes to play the piano as a hobby.

His role model is G-Dragon Chris Brown and apparently Chris Brown is following him on Instagram. He became a JYP trainee in late 2010 or early 2011 before debuting as a member of Got7 in 2014.

Dancing isn’t his only talent

Got7’sYugyeom favourite hobby is playing the piano. People are also unaware that he has written and composed several songs for Got7. His lyrics can be found on several albums, including 7 for 7, Flight Log: Departure and Turbulence.

He also enjoys eating, and his favourite meals include Korean pork BBQ, kimbap (Korean sushi), and bulgogi (Korean-style grilled marinated beef).

Yugyeom is friends with numerous 97-liner K-pop idols

Yugyeom is also friends with numerous 97-liner K-pop idols and they’re S’s Jungkook, NCT’s Jaehyun, ASTRO’s Eunwoo, Seventeen’s The8, Mingyu, and DK. They occasionally post an update showing them hanging out together or meeting in the waiting area at an event.

Yugyeom has reportedly been showing closeness, particularly with BTS’ Jungkook. These two are candidates for the greatest bromance ever!

When Got7 and BTS attended MAMA, and BTS’ Jungkook went to greet Jackson, Mark, and BamBam, but when he saw Yugyeom, his smile widened, and he ran to hug him. It was a great moment since they displayed their love in front of their fellow members.

Yugyeom has tattoos on his body

Tattoos are commonplace among Korean artists like Yugyeom. He is well-known for having two tattoos on his upper body. It’s a dandelion flower on his right side. Yugyeom appears to be a big fan of dandelions since he has a dandelion image on his Twitter profile and home photo.

Writing on his left side reads, “I’m not like that.” When questioned why he picked those words, he stated that he would not behave or act the same way as other individuals. Because he has tattoos on both sides, he prefers to wear clothing that reveals both sides.

There was speculation last March 2019 that Yugyeom had gotten another tattoo. Fans observed something dark on his shoulders beneath his white t-shirt while he presented a radio station. When he stood up and displayed his back, fans could see a large tattoo on his back, which some mistook for wings.

Yugyeom stunned fans on tour by showing them his new tattoo. They were right about his wings to tattoo on his back. It’s a tattoo of a cross with wings. Not only that, but he also got another “Trust Me” tattoo on his left shoulder. He chose those phrases because he wished to convey them to his family and supporters.

Jus2 is Got7’s subunit

With Got7’s second subgroup, Jus2, JYP Entertainment successfully realized the leader-maknae group. Last 2019, the agency announced the formation of a new Got7 subunit, which would debut in March. They later revealed the group’s name and teaser photographs.

It was confirmed that their first EP, Focus, consists of six songs featuring the title single “Focus On Me.” “Drunk On You,” “Touch,” “Senses,” “Love Talk,” and “Long Black” round out the album. The type of group music is more like R&B, with calmer but mature vibes.

Jus2 also made their stage debut on Mnet’s M! Countdown.
