Holcim’s Green Cement Excel ECOPlanet Ad Campaign Highlights The Company’s Dedication To Sustainability
With a campaign centered on its rebranded flagship brand Excel ECOPlanet, leading provider of building solutions Holcim Philippines, Inc. shines a brighter light on its expanding commitment to sustainability.
The Likas and Lakas: Sagot Ko sa Bukas campaign promotes Excel ECOPlanet’s general purpose cement. Likas at Lakas: Sagot Ko ang Bukas focuses on the family to emphasize that Holcim Philippines is a partner in constructing eco-friendly and long-lasting ideal homes with Excel ECOPlanet. The advertisement employs the song Sagot Ko Ang Bukas, which was composed for the company’s centennial commemoration in 2012, to further emphasize Holcim Philippines’s longstanding commitment to fostering environmentally conscious progress. The campaign began in July with prominent television and radio stations, as well as Facebook and YouTube, airing the advertisement.
President and CEO of Holcim Philippines, Horia Adrian, stated, “Likas at Lakas: Sagot Ko captures our message that we all have a role to play in constructing a better future. Due to its superior building and environmental performance, Excel ECOPlanet is an excellent product for this. This campaign arrives at the ideal moment, as more individuals place a greater emphasis on sustainability. We anticipate that Likas at Lakas: Sagot Ko ang Bukas will speed up the transition to greener building in the Philippines.”
Excel was among the first blended cements manufactured by Holcim Philippines for general construction and, with over two billion bags sold, has become one of the most trusted brands on the market. The product’s carbon footprint is now at least 30% lower than that of Ordinary Portland Cement, allowing it to bear the ECOPlanet mark, which is reserved for the Holcim Group’s line of high-performance and environmentally-friendly cements. ECOPlanet, introduced by the Holcim Group in 2021, is the world’s broadest range of green cement, with at least 30% reduced emissions, to assist builders in reducing their carbon footprint.
Since 2018, Holcim Philippines has reduced its carbon footprint by more than 20% through the production of more blended cements, the substitution of coal with qualified residues as alternative fuels and raw materials, and the enhancement of operational efficiencies. The company has expedited innovation to produce a broader range of high-performance blended cement for specific applications, including Optimo for large vertical projects, Solido for roads, Aqua-X for water protection, and WallRight Prime for masonry.
The company’s carbon footprint reduction program is consistent with the Holcim Group’s net-zero goal and the nation’s Nationally Determined Contributions. Holcim Philippines, in addition to its own initiatives, is collaborating with key stakeholders to promote the consumption of low-carbon products in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment.
