A story in the marriage pool goes like this: “After the wedding of the three gods who lived on Jeju and the third princess, they raised calves and ponies and planted the seeds of five grains. After that, they began farming and raising animals on Jeju Island.” In the marriage pond, there is not only the lotus pond where the wedding ceremony takes place but also three caves that are said to be the new house to prove this myth.

Walking down the quiet road in Honinji, you can sense how people used to live. If you come in October, you can see a reenactment of a mythical wedding at the Honinji Festival.

Even traditional hanbok can be tried on. As you walk around this quiet village, you can see a stone with the names of the three princesses carved into it.

The most important thing about Honinji is its pond, where you can sit and enjoy peace. One of the caves that legend says was used as a room for the bride.
