Kazu Gomi, CEO Of NTT Research, Inc., Will Speak At The Philippine Digital Convention 2020

NTT Research, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kazuhiro Gomi will speak at the PLDT Enterprise-hosted Philippine Digital Convention (PH Digicon) 2020. The general topic for this year’s conference is “Influence,” with the goal of inspiring delegates to embrace new ideas and technology in order to have a good impact on society.

This totally digital three-day event will be hosted in virtual event venues from October 28 to October 30, 2020, for the first time since PLDT Enterprise created PH Digicon. Ms. Cathy Yang of the PLDT Group will host and moderate the event.

PH Digicon 2020 will bring together global industry mavens, thought leaders, and technology pioneers to assist foster technological enablement among businesses in the Philippines and the region.

Kazu, as he is called, is a seasoned Silicon Valley executive with a 35-year career with the NTT Group. He joined NTT in 1985 to perform research and development on voice recognition technology. He became the Director of General Planning at the NTT Cyber Communications Laboratory Group in 1998. He was the president and CEO of NTT America, Inc., an operating arm of NTT Communications enterprises in the Americas, before joining NTT Research, Inc. (from 2010 to 2019). He was the VP of Global IP Network Business Unit in 2004 and the Chief Operating Officer in 2009 throughout his 15-year tenure with NTT America, Inc. He was also a member of the NTT Communications Corporation and NTT Communications Corporation Boards of Directors (from 2012 to 2019).

Mr. Gomi earned his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana, and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Mr. Gomi was named to the Global Telecoms Business Power100 in September 2009, a list of the industry’s top 100 most prominent and important people.

Mr. Gomi is the best person to speak on “The Impact of Research and Innovation” during the plenary session. He is well known in the ICT industry and highly sought after for his expertise and insights on global business trends and digital transformation. He is recognized as one of the leading experts in the field of fundamental and high-impact research advocating for the delivery of cutting-edge technologies and inventions for the betterment of society.
