Okcheon Aquatic Botanic Garden: Most Beautiful Lake Garden In Korea
The Aquatic Plant Learning Center is a science-experience learning center emphasizing water and aquatic plants. The center is located on Daecheong Lake in the hamlet of Daejong in the Gunbuk Township of Okcheon.
Its motto is “If you lose water, you lose life.” Established in 2002 as a project to cultivate and nurture aquatic plants, the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education classified it as an experiential learning facility in 2008. There are currently over 10,000 species of aquatic plants.
In addition to the Learning Center, there is the aquatic-plant-specialized botanical garden, Heavenly Garden, the Inner Healing Center, and the café, The Lake.
