According to a study* done by Spotify, approximately 80% of Filipinos consider audio to be essential while consuming information on love, dating, and relationships. 53% of those polled use audio as “sound therapy” to get through difficult periods in relationships, and 40% say podcasts help them find other perspectives on love. With the new Pag-ibig Hub on Spotify, fans may anticipate new perspectives on modern love, such as situationships & the art of parinig.

“From music & lyrics that move the heart to podcasts that debate relationship statuses and everything else, expressing and loving love in all its forms is inherent to the Filipino identity,” said Carl Zuzarte, Head of Studios for Southeast Asia at Spotify. “Spotify is always developing new features, content, and moments to provide Filipinos with an audio-jowa for every season of love.”

With Spotify Lyrics, one of the most-requested in-app features, the Valentine’s Day season is brought to life in an interactive and shared manner. Almost four million love playlists have been produced on Spotify to date. Nearly 70% of Filipinos reported that music lyrics help them make sense of their emotions, & nearly a third of those polled published a song lyric or playlist online to communicate their emotions.

“Audio enables listeners to immerse themselves in a different world in a significant way. And as a singer-songwriter, the lyrics play a significant role in every love song I compose, according to Spotify RADAR artist Zack Tabudlo. “Features such as Spotify Lyrics let younger Filipinos to vent their feelings and even drop parinig.” I anticipate more individuals finding the story behind my songs, including my most recent release, AKIN KA.”
