Press Release
Post-entry PCR Testing for Temporary Visitors
In preparation for the upcoming vacation season and festival events in Korea, the Central Disease Control Headquarters has announced that adjustments will be made to strengthen and expedite the post-entry COVID-19 screening procedure for short-term visitors.
Before, all short-term visitors were required to take a COVID-19 test at airport testing facilities or a health clinic near their accommodation on their first day in Korea (until 23:59 the next day after arrival). Still, the reinforced entrance procedure, effective from August 10, 2022, through September 9, 2022, requires all short-term tourists from Incheon, Gimhae, or Jeju international airports to do a PCR test at the airport facility upon arrival.
The flight crew will notify visitors of the airport testing requirement upon boarding the plane to ensure a smooth transfer. To speed up the process, visitors can schedule their post-entry PCR test through the Q-Code system ahead of time.
