Shopee, Southeast Asia’s and Taiwan’s premier e-commerce platform, held a successful 3.15 Consumer Day, its first mega sale of the year. Shopee enabled more individuals to buy and reward themselves, with 5 times the number of things purchased in the first two hours of March compared to a usual day. On March 15, 36 million Shopee vouchers were claimed, allowing users to save more on whatever they needed.

Because there were more users celebrating at 3.15, businesses and sellers were able to connect with and engage them more readily. Orders on Shopee Mall jumped fivefold compared to a typical day, as brands reported a surge in visitors to their official stores. Local companies also reported an increase in sales, thanks to strong customer support. Rhian, a women’s fashion store, WJF shops (grocerysale.no1 and no1.go), and albee 298 — all of which sell home goods and face masks — were the top local sellers in the Philippines this 3.15.

Shoppers also celebrated 3.15 Consumer Day on social media with Shopee, with over 2.6 million engagements on Shopee Philippines social media accounts during the campaign. With the #ShopeeCelebratesYou effort on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, devoted Shopee fans in the Philippines were surprised with cash prizes, the latest electronics, and K-Pop goods.

“We’re glad to see more individuals taking time to celebrate and treat themselves at our first 3.15 Consumer Day,” stated Martin Yu, Director of Shopee Philippines. Our users will always be at the heart of all we do, and we’re thrilled to be the first to celebrate yet another memorable day for them and the millions of businesses we service. The year has only just begun, so users can expect even more exciting activities in the months to come. In the remaining months of 2022, we look forward to providing even more value and excitement to all of our consumers.”

3.15 In the Philippines, it’s Consumer Day. With Shopee, more Filipinos were able to experience the joys of internet buying. 3.15 Consumer Day, in particular, allowed consumers to express their gratitude to themselves and those around them.

“This 3.15, I purchased the necessities—contact glasses, socks, and an iPhone cord,” said Joanna Villanueva, a 27-year-old fashion designer. I normally buy these items through Shopee because the app has a lot of deals and discounts, so I save a lot of money.

When the pandemic struck, I found it difficult to leave the house, and the stores where I regularly bought supplies for my job temporarily closed down, but I was able to purchase sewing materials through Shopee. I bought most of my furnishings and appliances from Shopee when I moved into an unfurnished condo during lockdown! I’ve bought everything from electronics to accessories to cosmetics to pet supplies to clothing from Shopee.”

“During 3.15, I bought home and self-care things — indoor pots, plant labels, shampoo, make-up brush set and load,” said Maricris Lorenzo, 35, entrepreneur. Shopee is my go-to app for all of these things plus pretty much anything else I need because I can quickly locate items and place orders. I always wait for sales to take advantage of discounts, vouchers, and coin rewards, which make my shopping binge more cost-effective.

I am thrilled to be able to do so much on Shopee as a businesswoman and a hands-on mommy. Paying our payments, buying business and home necessities, unwinding with a little retail therapy, and discovering the app’s myriad features have brought me so much joy and relief in the previous two years.”

Among the other 3.15 highlights in the Philippines are:

On March 15, users were given the opportunity to reward themselves and those around them. The most popular categories were Home & Living, Health & Personal Care, and Women’s Apparel, with mobile gadgets and accessories, skin care items, and home improvement supplies being the most popular. Body lotions were also one of the most ordered items by Filipinos as they prioritize self-care this 3.15 Consumer Day.
