Shopee Keeps Pushing to Make E-Commerce Accessible to Everyone

Shopee strives to provide users with a flawless digital experience at all times. Shopee has been known for sponsoring some of the most well-known e-commerce campaigns since its inception, and the recent 3.15 Consumer Day was no exception. It was Shopee’s first mega sale of the year, with the best deals, new initiatives, and an overall enjoyable and gratifying online shopping experience for customers. 3.15 Consumer Day, like other efforts that let consumers and companies to fully enjoy e-commerce, is part of the company’s aim to make e-commerce for everyone.

Making buying more enjoyable and accessible to everyone

Shopee has established itself as a go-to destination for secure and convenient online purchasing. The platform is working to make a more inclusive and convenient digital environment where both buyers and sellers can have fun and succeed. Shopee held its first Consumer Day Sale on March 15, when more Filipinos were able to take advantage of exceptional discounts and deals. Shopee had a successful first mega sale of the year across the region, with 5 times more items purchased in the first two hours on March 15 and 36 million vouchers claimed per hour.

With Shopee’s in-app games, 3.15 was not only a day for shopping but also a day for fun and rewards. Shopee Pets, the latest addition to its growing line of in-app games that includes Pera Panalo, Shopee Candy, Shopee Farm, Shopee Bubble, and Shopee Claw, was released just in time for 3.15 Consumer Day. Shopee Prizes received over 27 million game plays in the Philippines during the 3.15 campaign.

Shopee invites its customers to make a positive effect through numerous projects and campaigns aimed at aiding the underserved, in addition to games and sales. Support MSMEs and community-owned enterprises continue to benefit from local efforts like #TatakPinoy Trade Fairs.

Another in-app innovation, Shopee Live, creates a shared experience by allowing customers to connect directly with sellers via a livestream session. On March 14, users got the option to join Marian Rivera, Shopee’s newest brand ambassador, in a live countdown to the 3.15 Consumer Day. During the 3.15 Consumer Day Sale in the Philippines, 65 million Shopee Live views were registered.

Providing access to secure and dependable digital payments

In 2019, ShopeePay, the company’s integrated mobile wallet, was launched to provide users with a safe and secure cashless payment experience. ShopeePay makes financial services more accessible by allowing customers to buy products, pay bills, and send money for free to any bank account or Shopee member using the Shopee app.

Thousands of retailers around the country have collaborated with ShopeePay to make digital payments more accessible. Buddy’s, a Filipino restaurant chain, and Jetti Petroleum, a Filipino-owned company with over a hundred gas stations, are two of the merchants who have benefited from the adoption of digital payments. ShopeePay Near Me, Shopee’s location-based online-to-offline service that helps customers to discover merchants near them and take advantage of enticing deals, has helped both brands grow their operations.

“At Buddy’s, we constantly adapt to technical changes in the sector,” Claudia Ysabelle Veluz, Jr. Operations Manager, adds. By accepting ShopeePay as a form of payment, we were able to meet the needs of our existing consumers while also attracting new ones. For them, this made the payment process more convenient and straightforward.”

“Since Jetti has no big cashless transaction system in the pipeline, we teamed with ShopeePay to give our consumers the ease and speed of payment while gassing up,” Precious Que, Jetti Petroleum Brand Loyalty Officer, says, referring to the rise in cashless purchases. In terms of drawing more customers and improving overall sales, ShopeePay has a significant impact on the business.”

Using the power of technology to uplift the community

Shopee uses technology to make a difference and allows people to do the same, in addition to recognizing customers through campaigns. Through Shopee Bayanihan, its umbrella CSR initiative, users can donate to various causes via on-boarded partner charities or purchase donation certificates directly from these charity organizations. They can also donate to ShopeePay partner foundations by scanning the QR code of their choice on the Shopee app and entering the appropriate amount.
