DOT and TPB SmarTourism: Launch of Virtual Destination Videos And 360° VR Experiential Tours
Philippines, Manila – The Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines released Virtual Destination Videos and 360° VR Experiential Tours highlighting the country’s top tourist places and attractions on Wednesday to expand and strengthen SmarTourism activities.
About SmarTourism
SmarTourism is one of TPB’s core strategic goals, to integrate innovation and digitalization through bolstering digital tourist platforms, ensure data-driven planning, and extending promotional and marketing tools.
“The tremendous shift towards digitalization and innovation is the most distinct engine of change in any industry.” The virtual tours result from our will to improve and perform better in adversity. It’s not just a teaser for our international visitors to give them a taste of our country in its new normal; it’s also a gift to our kababayans and OFWs longing to return home. And it’s a chance to live vicariously via the Philippines, as well as guidance to making the most of every minute of your vacation,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Anthonette C. Velasco-Allones.
Through the “It’s More Fun With You” campaign, the Virtual Destination Videos promote TPB’s marketing activities on domestic welcome-back and global tourism. The campaign, spearheaded by the Department of Transportation, encourages tourists to look forward to and enjoy safe travel once more following the extended hiatus caused by the travel restriction. The ad’s tone combines the fun and excitement associated with Philippine tourism with the warmth and desire of our places and passengers to reunite.
