The Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) of Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the Thai Rice Exporters Association and the Thai Trade Center in Manila, organized the Thai Rice Market Promotion Event at Mango Tree Restaurant, Bonifacio High Street Central. Mango Tree is a Thai restaurant certified with the Thai SELECT award. The event was presided over by Mrs. Chanintorn Rimcharone, Deputy Director-General of the DFT, and highlighted the qualities of Thai rice and its growing appeal among Filipino consumers.

The event aimed to increase awareness and appreciation of Thai rice through presentations and a culinary showcase. Attendees learned about its characteristics, nutritional value, and versatility in cooking, reinforcing its position as a high-quality option for both households and the food service industry in the Philippines.

A key feature of the program was a live cooking demonstration by Thai chefs who prepared authentic Thai dishes using premium Thai rice. Guests saw how Thai rice can be used in everyday meals and sampled dishes that highlighted its taste, texture, and adaptability.

Mrs. Rimcharone said, “This event is part of our ongoing initiative to promote Thai rice and build stronger agricultural ties with the Philippines. We value the positive response from Filipino consumers and will continue to work on increasing awareness and accessibility in this market.”

The Thai Rice Market Promotion Event reinforced Thailand’s commitment to strengthening its rice export industry and fostering collaboration through shared appreciation of food.
