Philippine Airlines Launches First Nonstop Manila to Seattle Flights

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has set a milestone in air travel by announcing the launch of nonstop flights between Manila and Seattle, scheduled to commence on October 2, 2024. This move solidifies PAL’s position as the leading airline bridging the Philippines and the United States with the largest nonstop service network.
Philippine Airlines is happy to say, ‘Mabuhay, Seattle!’ We are proud to welcome Seattle to our growing U.S. route network,” said PAL President and COO Captain Stanley K. Ng. “Our Manila-Seattle-Manila flights give us a valuable opportunity to promote our beautiful island country as a flourishing tourist and business destination for American travellers.”
The introduction of the Manila-Seattle route marks PAL’s sixth destination in the United States, offering travelers unparalleled convenience and connectivity. The flights are initially set to operate three times a week, departing Manila at 10:40 PM and Seattle at 11:40 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Seattle, famed as a pivotal hub for the tech industry and a bustling port city, serves as a gateway not only to Washington state but also to neighboring Northwest population centers such as Portland, Spokane, and Eugene. PAL’s extensive network through Manila further extends connectivity to various Asian destinations, enriching travel options for passengers.
“Washington state is home to the country’s fourth-largest Filipino population. For over 100 years, Filipinos have contributed to the region’s arts, business, and political leadership,” said Port of Seattle Commissioner Toshiko Hasegawa.
Mr. Hasegawa highlighted the significant demand for the Manila-Seattle route, attributing it to the substantial Filipino community in Washington state, which ranks as the fourth-largest in the United States.
PAL’s commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences is underscored by the deployment of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering both business and economy class cabins. Introductory roundtrip fares, starting at $771 for economy and $3,071 for business class, are available until April 30th for travel between October 2 – November 30, 2024, and February 1 – March 22, 2025.
The announcement has garnered support from Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, who anticipates that the new service will significantly contribute to enhancing travel and tourism between the Philippines and the United States. This sentiment is echoed as the Philippines continues to invest in airport infrastructure to accommodate growing passenger demands.
The Seattle route integrates seamlessly with PAL’s existing North American destinations, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York, Toronto, Honolulu, and Guam. With over 900,000 American tourists visiting the Philippines in 2023, the United States remains a key market for Philippine tourism.
