Netflix ‘City Hunter’ Live-Action Film Teaser

How did Ryo Saeba, a City Hunter “sweeper” of the highest caliber, come to collaborate with Kaori Makimura, his longtime partner’s sister? While the iconic manga did not go into great detail, the recently released teaser trailer suggests that the highly anticipated Japanese live-action version will go deeper into the story of their alliance.
City Hunter, which is scheduled to première on April 25, follows the exploits of Ryo Saeba, a “sweeper” who traverses the murky depths of contemporary Shinjuku, Tokyo. Ryo confronts high-stakes challenges in the underworld while maintaining a jovial disposition and demeanor. Ryohei Suzuki portrays the amusing and cool “Ryo Saeba,” which also stars Misato Morita as the heroine “Kaori Makimura,” Masanobu Ando as Ryo’s companion “Hideyuki Makimura,” and Fumino Kimura as the detective “Saeko Nogami.”

Following the instruction “XYZ, locate my sister,” Ryo and his companion Hideyuki proceed with the pursuit of Kurumi, a renowned cosplayer. Concurrently, Shinjuku is beset by enigmatic acts of violence, and Saeko, a proficient police detective, is encountering significant difficulty in solving these cases. As they pursue Kurumi together, Ryo and Hideyuki encounter a tragic development when Hideyuki is murdered in the course of their investigation. Having observed the demise of her sibling, Kaori begs Ryo to reveal the truth regarding the occurrence.
“Get Wild” returns to the scene
A beloved song to this day, the “Get Wild” by the Japanese band TM NETWORK was featured in the closing scene of the City Hunter anime series. A exhilarating collaboration with TM NETWORK will now reintroduce the iconic track as “Get Wild Continual” in the live-action film on Netflix.
The adrenaline-pumping City Hunter will be shown on April 25.
