The Script Announces Big Manila Comeback With ‘MAN IN THE ARENA TOUR’

Filipino fans of The Script have another reason to celebrate as the multi-platinum Irish band officially announces its return to Manila for the highly anticipated “MAN IN THE ARENA TOUR.” The concert is set for March 18, 2027, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, promising an unforgettable night of soaring anthems and emotional singalongs.

Presented by Wilbros Live and Midas Promotions, tickets will go on sale on May 29 at 9:30 AM via SM Tickets online and outlets nationwide.

With a career spanning more than a decade, The Script continues to solidify its place as one of the most successful bands in contemporary pop-rock. The trio has amassed over 14 billion global streams, sold more than five million albums, and achieved six UK No. 1 albums, alongside numerous platinum certifications worldwide. Their impressive catalog includes beloved hits such as “Breakeven,” “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved,” “Hall of Fame,” and “Superheroes.”

The Manila stop comes as the band enters a new musical chapter with the release of their latest single, “Man In The Arena,” the lead track from their upcoming album, The User’s Guide To Being Human, set to arrive on August 14, 2026. The album marks a fresh era for the group following Satellites (2024), a deeply personal record shaped by frontman Danny O’Donoghue’s grief after the passing of bandmate Mark Sheehan in 2023.

Following an emotional world tour that paid tribute to Mark, Danny found renewed inspiration and returned to the studio shortly after the trek concluded. Working alongside longtime collaborators Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner, and Jimbo Barry—the creative minds behind several of The Script’s biggest songs—the band crafted a new body of work rooted in emotional honesty and resilience.

Recorded in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, The User’s Guide To Being Human explores the full spectrum of emotions that shape human experience. According to Danny, the album reflects life’s highs and lows while embracing vulnerability and connection.

The title track, “Man In The Arena,” delivers The Script’s signature stadium-ready sound, blending powerful melodies with uplifting themes. Inspired in part by a famous speech from former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, the song celebrates courage and perseverance, honoring those willing to take risks despite criticism.

As part of the album rollout, fans can also look forward to physical releases including CDs, limited-edition transparent vinyl, exclusive merchandise bundles, cassette editions, and collector’s pressings.
