The Clorox Safer Today Program, which was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is a successful movement that promotes research and innovation aimed at improving public safety and aiding in the response to the current global health crisis. It was started in the United States as well.

This time, the movement was brought to the Philippines by Clorox Philippines, one of the country’s leading providers of cleaning and disinfecting products. The company donated 2,520 Clorox disinfecting wipes and cleaners to the OVP to kick off the project, some of which were included in at least 2,000 Bayanihan e-Konsulta kits last April 19.

“We are grateful to Clorox Philippines for their support of our efforts. This Bayanihan spirit is what drives our efforts to assist our fellow Filipinos during this trying time. Many generous partners and individuals like them make our office’s COVID Response Operations possible,” stated Vice President Leni Robredo.

The kits will be distributed by VP Leni Robredo’s office to Bayanihan e-Konsulta patients who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 or who have been suspected of having COVID-19, as prescribed by the group’s volunteer doctors and health experts. Each kit will also include an oximeter, other medical supplies, and medications in addition to the Clorox wipes and cleaners.

Angat Buhay, the OVP’s flagship anti-poverty program, brings together the public and private sectors to address the needs of families in the country’s most remote and impoverished areas. Food security and nutrition, universal healthcare, public education, rural development, housing and resettlement, and women empowerment are among the six key advocacies that the OVP and its partners support.

“It’s an understatement to say we’re excited to introduce this movement into the country. The appeal for Bayanihan among us, Filipinos, has never been more crucial in these hard times. We have never been more fulfilled to help our fellow Filipinos than via our relationships with organizations like Angat Buhay. Clorox Southeast Asia Sales & Marketing Director Paulo Lao stated, “We will stop at nothing to assist deliver safer and cleaner shared areas for all.”
