Working new wonders with his latest drama and thriller series Wonderful World, K-drama actor Cha Eun-Woo takes on the role of Kwon Sun Yool—a medical school dropout working in a junkyard and a corrupt politician’s minion. The story follows the tale of Kwon Sun Yool portrayed by Kim Nam-Joo. Two of their worlds merge with an entanglement in pursuant to justice. As Kwon Sun Yool (Kim Nam-Joo) seeks revenge for her son’s death.
The Beginning: A Mother’s Love
The story tale opens with Kwon Sun Yool’s successful family and career life. She shares living as a very admirable professor and writer. Her husband, Kang Soo Ho (Kim Kang Woo) on the other hand is a notable journalist/newscaster. The two lived a happy married life until fate shifted in another direction.
Tragedy struck as their son had suffered an unfortunate death. The couple then had to make up for the loss. Trials were held in search of justice and peace after their son’s death.
As Kwon Sun Yool journeys for justice and answers, she still has yet to discover secrets that are yet to be uncovered. Surely, digging up the dirt of the past could lead to other conflicts. Sun Yool is desperate to fulfill her vow to attain peace for herself.
The Redemption
Moreover, still mourning over her son’s passing Kwon Sun Yool faced yet another challenge. She was convicted of murder and had to serve time in prison.
Through the spiraling drama Kwon Sun Yool soon finds herself continuously living a life full of regret and self-pity. She was left traumatized and failed to let life go on.
A life left in shambles, Kwon Sun Yool now faces life’s enlightenment and is more determined to take matters into her own hands. Soon enough, in her journey to seek for the answers she longed for, Kwon Seon Yul (Cha Eun Woo), appears in the picture.
The series leaves you at the peak of curiosity, wanting to discover more of the characters and what other developments are to happen to the story.
With a very pensive tone, Wonderful World shows a fresh face to the actors and actresses in the roles they play.
In contrast to Cha Eun Woo’s previous boy next door roles, playing the role of a character that is more likely conveyed to be on the darker side is one way to further excite MBC’s new drama series. Plus, it is a much-awaited on-screen comeback drama for Kim Nam-Joo after Misty in 2018.
The series is directed by Lee Seung-young. She is also the director of the well-renowned drama series Tracer (2022).
