ePLDT Inc., the country’s leading provider of digital solutions, has been named the first and only Philippine organization to join the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), a global leader in incident response, bolstering its cyber security capabilities and enabling it to better respond to security incidents.

FIRST is the world’s most well-known and respected incident response group. After a rigorous application process that included sponsorship from existing members, site visits to ePLDT’s Security Operations Center (SOC) for the examination of its cyber threat response capabilities, and board approval, ePLDT Cyber Security became a certified FIRST member in February.

ePLDT’s FIRST membership enhances and improves the company’s existing cyber security capabilities in the event of a cyberattack. Being a FIRST member also allows ePLDT to share expertise with other similar cyber security firms throughout the world, enhancing collaboration and communication with their security teams by gathering feedback, exchanging ideas, and sharing best practices. ePLDT, on the other hand, will share its own experiences dealing with threats in the Philippines.
