Before entering the entertainment industry, Hwang In-Youp spent approximately four years in the Philippines, graduating from high school and college in Davao City.

He made his acting debut in 2018 with the web series Why. Then, he starred in the K-dramas True Beauty and The Sound of Magic, following supporting roles in series such as The Tale of Nokdu and 18 Again.

Hwang In-Yeop started as a model

In-Yeop actually started auditioning not as an actor, but as a model in 2017, right after fulfilling his military services to “not delay his dreams further”. Meanwhile, his first acting gig was in 2018 for the web series “Why”, while his very first Korean drama was in 2019 for the historical drama “The Tale of Nokdu”.

In 2020, In-Yeop was cast in the hit drama “18 Again”, before landing his most significant break as Han Seojun for “True Beauty”. 

Recently, In-Yeop got back-to-back drama offers and starred side-by-side Ji Chang Wook and Choi Sung Eun for “Sound of Magic”, and Seo Hyun-Jin and Heo Jun-Ho for the suspense drama series “Why Her?”. He is undeniably an in-demand actor!

He is very shy and very close to his family

In his line of work as an actor, it is incredibly endearing to discover that In-Yeop is very introverted in person. In-Yeop was very hesitant to try acting because of his insecurities and lack of confidence in himself.

What made him decide to pursue a career as an actor was his dad’s encouragement. When asked about his bucket list, In-Yeop wanted to spend time with his family for a very long time. Awwww.

Hwang In-Yeop is a Jack of all Trades

In-Yeop is the ultimate all-arounder, revealing that for his role of Han Seo Jun in “True Beauty”, he even got a motorcycle license and learned how to ride the big bike to play his part more convincingly! He also enrolled in an acting school to fulfil his stunts for “True Beauty” without any substitute! 

In-Yeop loves to try a lot of things and studied so many skills, including speed skating, singing, skiing, kendo, taekwondo, and hapkido. He is also ambidextrous, or a person who can use both his hands equally well for writing, eating, throwing a ball, etc. Very impressive!

Hwang In-Yeop is a Pokémon fan

In-Yeop can name Pokémon characters and their abilities and even posted a Pikachu plush doll wearing a seatbelt on his Instagram back in April 2020. His former profile photo on Instagram was of Ditto, a Pokémon character!
