Timmy Albert believes that you do not always need “closure” to go on. Inspired by the pop-rock vibe of the 2000s, he composed “RENT FREE” in his room.

This song is an open letter about a lingering ex & how you don’t need to stick around to get closure. For the young singer-songwriter who has published songs such as “TOTGA” and “Best Mistake,” this is an anthem for people who have already moved on and are in a good position – free from the stress of a prior relationship.

In addition, Timmy defines it as “the sensation of independence and self-assurance in not requiring your ex at all, even if he or she still talks about you.”

Timmy wrote “RENT FREE” with a live band in mind to represent his transition to his new sound in 2023. He held a single launch event for “RENT FREE” for the first time on February 21, 2023 at the newly renovated 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub.
