Forget the heartbreak anthems and play-it-safe playlists—OPM band LILY is back to help you lock it down!

Following their hit releases “Kinakabahan” and “OSA,” the pop-rock outfit has dropped their latest single, “Leron,” a sweet, high-energy track designed for anyone ready to move past casual dating and step into their “date to marry” era.

Putting a contemporary twist on the beloved folk classic Leron Leron Sinta, the band weaves nostalgic melodies into a modern declaration of real, lasting love.

“Inspired talaga ito sa mga nasa long-term relationship na akala mo wala nang pupuntahan, pero late in the game, ayaw na maglaro kundi seryosohan na talaga-road to marriage and forever na,” shares frontman Joshua Bulot.

“Kaya din sya ‘Leron’ kasi inspired din sa children’s folk song na Leron Leron Sinta, na about pala sa panliligaw, pero ang totoong goal is to marry at hindi maglokohan or maglaro-laro lang. Kaya if mapapansin niyo rin sa specific parts ng song, may ginamit kaming hint of the original tune ng Leron Leron Sinta to bring that nostalgia back.”

Guitarist Alden Acosta explains that the track captures the exact moment when staying safe in love is no longer enough:

“‘Leron’ is about that leap you take when playing it safe stops feeling worth it,” Alden shares. “Riding a bright OPM pop-rock groove, its kilig-soaked verses and earnest chorus build into a full-hearted declaration of commitment, capturing that moment of falling hard and deciding to stay for the long haul.”

That grounding rhythm comes straight from bassist Aaron Ricafrente, who aimed for a heartbeat-like bassline to balance the track’s fun, bright tempo:

“In terms of instrumentation, we wanted the basslines to carry that steady, heartbeat-like rhythm-something that grounds the whole song while keeping the tempo upbeat and fun,” Aaron reflects. “Entering this new chapter, we’re really opening ourselves up to fresh possibilities, including dream collaborations with artists from different genres who share our passion for tell-it-like-it-is songwriting.”

For drummer Nathan Reyes and rhythm guitarist Ezra Bañez, tracking “Leron” signaled a renewed, united era for the group:

“When we were laying down the drums and rhythm tracks, the energy in the studio was just electric,” Nathan shares.

“This song really represents where LILY is headed right now,” Ezra adds. “We have bigger dreams for the band bigger venues, deeper connections with our listeners, and a solid direction for our upcoming releases. ‘Leron’ is just the first step into what we feel is our most excited and united era yet.”

Adding to the emotional depth, producer David Lina (who also helmed “OSA” and “Ako Naman”) drew straight from his own marriage to score the track:

“Leron is a semi-proposal song. I look back into my own relationship with my wife. If I scored a music to it, yun yung Leron.”

Visuals-wise, LILY has teamed up once again with internet powerhouse Queenay Mercado, following their viral collaboration in the “Kinakabahan” music video. Bringing her trademark Batangueña charm and massive online presence to the official visualizer, Queenay adds an extra layer of warmth to the release.
