BABYMETAL Brings Their First-Ever Show to Manila This October
There’s a distinct energy and visual style to “kawaii metal,” a genre that fuses the intensity of heavy metal with the polish of J-pop idols. Leading the movement is BABYMETAL, a Japanese group known for blending various metal subgenres such as death, progressive, power, metalcore, speed, and nu metal. The band is made up of vocalist and dancer Su-Metal, and screamers and dancers Moametal and Momometal. Together they’ve built a strong international presence that goes beyond their origins as a niche act.

Since their debut in 2010, BABYMETAL has steadily grown their reach. Their first performance at the Sakura Gakuin Festival was soon followed by key appearances at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival in 2012 and Loud Park Festival in 2013. Their shows stood out early on for their sharp choreography, distinctive visuals, and tight musical performances.
In 2014 they sold out two nights at the Nippon Budokan with over 20,000 people in attendance, marking a turning point that led to their first world tour. From there they began performing across Europe and North America, drawing attention not just from fans but from established artists like Metallica, Megadeth, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Anthrax, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lady Gaga.
Their second album, Metal Resistance, marked their expansion into Europe with a headline show at Wembley Arena in London. Over the years they’ve played major festivals including Rock On The Range in the United States, Glastonbury in the UK, and Rock am Ring in Germany. A scheduled performance at PULP Summer Slam in the Philippines was cancelled during the pandemic, but fans have continued waiting for their chance to see the group live.
That wait is finally over. BABYMETAL is set to perform in Manila for the first time on October 8, 2025 at the Araneta Coliseum. The show is part of their ongoing world tour and follows sold-out performances across Europe, including Paris. It’s a long-anticipated event for Filipino fans who have followed the band for years.

Tickets will be available starting June 14, 2025 at 12 noon through TicketNet outlets and online at ticketnet.com.ph. For official updates, fans can visit pulpmagazine.com, pulp.ph, or follow PULP Live World on social media.
BABYMETAL’s live show combines sharp musicianship, theatrical production, and a style that’s hard to define but easy to enjoy. With their Manila debut finally confirmed, fans can expect a night that brings both the sound and spectacle the group is known for.
