A beautiful chapter: WENDY wraps up W:EALIVE solo tour in Manila
RED VELVET’s main vocalist WENDY brought her “1st World Tour: W:EALIVE” to a powerful ending in Manila on Saturday, January 17.
The concert name “WE:ALIVE” is a fusion of “WENDY” and “ALIVE” with the theme of wanting to be exist and breathe with the audience through music.
Truly enough, WENDY and fans created exceptional memories through top live vocals, dynamic set list, and endearing interactions at the New Frontier Theatre.
Best crowd ever
WENDY draped in a red flowy dress compliments her strong musical range with the opening acapella version “Fireproof,” a unique way of starting a concert.


Then it is followed by electrifying stages of “Hate²” and “Queen of the Party.”
She shared that this was the first time that she could not hear herself due to the crowd’s beaming cheers and energy.
“I am already feeling alive because of your energy. I’m supposed to have my in ear but because of your energy and shoutings – I could not hear myself at all,” she said.
K-Drama OST Medley
She is recognized as one of KPop’s finest vocalists, her artistry shines through a rich discography of singles, collaborations , and beloved Kdrama OSTs.


ReVeluvs (RED VELVET’s fans) got into the KDrama feels and sang together with “Goodbye” from The Beauty Inside (2018), “Because I Love You” from Mimi (2014), and Start Up (2020)’s “Two Worlds 두 글자.”
Even in sentimental moments, the queen of ballad commanded the stage with her signature sound and live performances of “Like Water” and “When This Rain Stops.”
Funny Wannie
WENDY reveals that her go-to Filipino food is Adobo, a pork or chicken stew known for its savory and tangy flavor. The fans also prepared Jollibee for her arrival.
“There are so many things I want to do here and eat in Manila. So next time I will come back here for a vacation with my family or along with a concert,” she says while also jokingly promising that she’s going to try going out more this year.
She sealed the moment by trying out Filipino phrases from the crowd, especially with the iconic, “Walang huhuwey (uuwi).”
Heartwarming messages
As the night deepened the energy soared with vibrant performances for “Sunkiss,” and the crowd’s favorite “Wish You Hell.” Fans also expressed their appreciation to the artist through a heartfelt video.


While WENDY, who debuted with K-Pop girl group RED VELVET in 2014, emotionally expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans and staff who have been with her since the beginning.
“When I first stepped on the stage with RED VELVET, I discovered what truly happiness felt like… They say that as a singer, my purpose is to touch hearts, bring joy through music. But the truth is you have been the ones (to) fill (up) my heart,” she said.
“This is just the beginning of our next chapter together… I love you and thank you for everything,” she continues.
Send-off for Everyone
WENDY, whose real name is Son Seung-wan, concludes “1st World Tour: W:EALIVE” in Manila with a three-hour concert that felt like listening straight from the record with ethereal voice, rhythmic bands, and soulful arrangement.
In the encore, she is the best ever for asking the crowd and sing three songs from their requests of “Vermilion,” “Hate²,” and “Wish You Hell” that made the audience jump in unison.
A special night in Manila ended with a send-off to WENDY from all tiers fans taking home exclusive photocards as a keepsake for the memorable event.
From her first show in Seoul to 17 shows across the tour, WENDY has shown the growth, confidence, and artistry of a true solo performer.
Though WENDY’s “1st World Tour: W:EALIVE” has come to an end, it found its most beautiful farewell in Manila. A chapter written with connection, music, and shared memories – leaving the fans with a lasting reminder of the beauty of being alive.
This marks her first solo concert in Manila organized by L-Squared Productions PH.
