Netflix’s Epic Series Black Knight Gets You Ready For The Dystopian World
The Netflix series Black Knight will have its worldwide launch on May 12.
The series follows the voyage of Sa-wol, a refugee, and the legendary deliveryman 5-8, as he challenges the all-powerful Cheonmyeong Group in a dystopian depiction of a Korea ravaged by severe air pollution, rendering it inhabitable without an oxygen mask.
Black Knight, adapted from a widely famous webtoon, tells the story of black knights. These delivery men risk their lives to bring essentials to people in a filthy, dystopian society where a rigid social hierarchy is imposed.
The program stars Kim Woo-bin as the legendary delivery man and knight 5-8 and has garnered worldwide acclaim amongst fans. Kim Woo-bin stated, “I experienced immense joy while filming this series, and I earnestly hope that our collective efforts resonate with the audience and that they enjoy every moment as much as I did.”
The show boasts a formidable cast, including Song Seung-Heon as the sole heir to the Chunmyung Group, Kang You-seok as a young boy who idolizes 5-8, and Esom as a major at the Defense Intelligence Command.
This ideal team collaborates to bring the characters’ stories to life as they navigate survival in a post-apocalyptic world. The series is directed by Cho Ui-Seok, renowned for his work on critically acclaimed features, including Cold Eyes, Master and The World of Silence.
The second teaser poster, depicting the legendary 5-8 unloading parcels in a desolate landscape, announces the imminent global release of Black Knight on May 12, exclusively on Netflix.
