Byeon Woo Seok Turns the Page for Manila Fans at The Secret Library

Byeon Woo Seok brought his Secret Library fanmeeting to Manila on Saturday night, October 10, filling the venue with songs, games and plenty of fan moments. The actor, best known for Lovely Runner and Perfect Crown, spent the evening answering questions, acting out old scenes, playing a Filipino street game and cooking onstage, all while keeping the mood light and warm.

He started with “Flower Road,” which eased the crowd into the library theme. Next came “Secret Record of the Librarian,” a fill-in-the-blank Q&A about his life lately.

When asked about a recent small change, he said he feels happier every day and that this is what matters most. He also joked that, thanks to fans, his social media feed is now mostly full of his own videos and photos. And when asked for one word to describe “being like Woo Seok,” he simply said, “Happy.”

The next segment was more playful. Byeon acted out memorable scenes from his past dramas, with a few fans joining him onstage and going home with Instax photos. He then took a quiz on his own filmography to see how well he remembers his projects.

He also gave the show a local touch by playing tumbang preso, a popular Filipino street game, which kept the crowd laughing.

In “The Librarian’s Recipe,” Byeon cooked gyeran mari, a Korean rolled omelet, in a frying pan right on stage. It was a familiar dish for him, since he used to cook it on Netflix’s Jaesok BnB, so fans who watched the show got a fun callback.

Then came “Sudden Shower,” a song from Lovely Runner. As Byeon sang, the crowd sang along with him in unison, and he thanked fans for their love and support.

Byeon later walked through the arena, passing the SVIP sections and the mosh pit while waving and making eye contact with fans. He also acknowledged the fans in the upper levels, so they felt part of the moment too.

He closed the night with “Fate Line,” the original soundtrack from Perfect Crown, his return to television this year. Byeon said he hopes to be remembered as someone who brings happiness to people and gives fans memories they can look back on fondly.
