Legendary Debbie Gibson set to hold ‘Electric Youth’ in Manila this April

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the mega-hit album “Electric Youth,” the record-breaking singer-songwriter-producer is scheduled to electrify the Philippine stage in a gigantic 2-hour long show full of songs and surprises on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at 8 p.m. at the New Frontier Theater! Prepare for a fun and emotional night of nostalgia and “newstalgia” as Debbie performs Electric Youth faves and her biggest hits!

One of the best-selling albums in the Philippines in 1989, “Electric Youth” inspired a generation and had us memorizing the words to hits like “Lost In Your Eyes,” “We Could Be Together,” “No More Rhyme,” and, of course, the inspirational title track. We also wore out the cassette in our Walkman. The album’s fan favorites included “Who Loves Ya Baby,” “Over The Wall,” and “Silence Speaks (a Thousand Words).”

Fast forward 35 years, and the album has stood the test of time, with the tracks still being played on regular radio playlists and receiving hundreds of millions of Spotify streams. Debbie Gibson’s reputation as a timeless artistic force has become stronger. She has bravely and successfully ventured into other genres of the entertainment industry. After conquering the pop world with her first three albums, she went on to star in 17 musicals over the course of 17 years, portraying legendary characters such as Eponine in Les Miserables, Sandy in Grease, Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Velma Kelly in Chicago, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

Debbie Gibson returned to the Billboard charts in 2020, with the #4 Dance Chart smash “Girl’s Night Out”. In 2021, she appeared as a guest in the Netflix series “Lucifer” and performed a successful residency at The Venetian in Las Vegas with Joey McIntyre of New Kids On The Block. In 2022, she published her first holiday album, Winterlicious, and finished a sold-out winter tour in the United States. In 2023, she was cast as the “Nightowl” on the hit TV show The Masked Singer, and she revealed a book deal for her impending memoir.

Debbie Gibson shows no sign of slowing down. In January 2024, she received the Trailblazer Award from The Women’s International Music Network at the 12th Annual She Rocks Awards ceremony.
