Japanese Boy Band ONE N ONLY Latin Party Anthem EP Fiesta

With over 5.8 million TikTok followers, ONE N’ ONLY is the number one male music artist group in Japan and enjoys enormous success internationally. The six-member pop group ONE N’ ONLY takes the next step forward by releasing its third EP “Fiesta” today, October 2nd. This latest release delves into a number of genres, including Latin-infused party songs on the title track, as well as EDM, rock, and pop. This EP lives up to its name, which means “party” in Spanish.

ONE N’ ONLY has consistently brought its live shows to Brazil, even embarking on a solo tour there last spring, highlighting the group’s global appeal. Immersed in Latin culture, the members developed their sound by integrating these inspirations into their own distinct fusion of J-POP and Latin music, which they proudly call “Jatin Pop.” As a result, the music video for ONE N’ ONLY’s reggaeton-style track “EVOL,” released last summer, has topped 1.9 million views on the band’s official YouTube account, while the music video for “DOMINO,” released this spring, has surpassed 2.3 million.

The title tune of the current EP, “Fiesta,” continues on this Latin-inspired route. It’s a feel-good party song with a powerful pace and a hefty kick drum that will get you moving. The lyrics are in Japanese, English, and Portuguese, and the unusual combination of a sensual melodic line and strong, snappy rap lines is unmistakably ONE N’ ONLY. “Fiesta” has become a great crowd-pleaser on the group’s current home tour, eliciting big call-and-response moments and cementing its status as a border-crossing hit.

The EP also includes “DOMINO,” a song with explosive energy based on Brazilian funk that has become a live standard. Another single, “Free Hug,” is based around “unconditional love and kindness,” has catchy embracing choreography, and was pre-released to a great reception. “Burn it out” is a dynamic rock song in which all members take the mic and provide impassioned performances. The EP also has “R.U.S.H,” a fashionable blend of techno-inspired sounds and rap, and “Too Much,” a love ballad with a tight beat and repressed emotion, emitting emotional undertones—both EDM-heavy tunes with lyrics written by frontman HAYATO.

The limited edition includes “ALL OUT,” a hard-hitting hip-hop track with lyrics penned by the group’s rappers, while the regular edition includes “Fight or Die,” an insert song from the movie “Dead or Alive (100秒の拳王 -ケンカバトルロワイアル-)” starring vocalist TETTA under his real name, Tetta Seki. Both tracks were performed at Pacifico Yokohama in April 2024, the closing stop on their 47-prefecture tour. With a wide and compelling mix of tracks, the EP delivers a thrilling listening experience from beginning to end.

ONE N’ ONLY began their statewide tour “¿Fiesta?” in September, riding high on the success of their current EP. This six-show tour will conclude on January 18, 2025, at the Tokyo Garden Theater, its largest arena to date. All shows have already sold out. To match the expectations of its devoted fan base, the ensemble presented electrifying performances featuring numerous tracks from the EP. EIKU even stated that the opening Tokyo event seemed like “just five minutes,” emphasizing the concert’s exciting tempo and energy level.
