Anime Series ‘One Piece’ Announces Hiatus with Fish-Man Island Saga and 25th Anniversary Episode
Crunchyroll will stream the re-imagined Fish-Man Island arc plus a special episode.
Toei Animation has announced that the classic anime series One Piece would go on pause after Episode 1122, which was released today. The series will resume in April 2025, featuring new episodes from the Egghead storyline. During the hiatus, fans may look forward to new content, such as One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga, a reimagined version of the legendary arc available on Crunchyroll.

This unique 21-episode cutdown will give the Fish-Man Island Arc a new look and feel, featuring a contemporary visual style and new animation sequences, including opening and ending themes. The new opening theme, “We Go!” by Kitadani Hiroshi, will feature a special guest collaboration that will be announced shortly, while the closing theme, “Sailing” (TV version) by BE:FIRST, adds an exciting new twist. One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga is designed to capture the essence of this fan-favorite saga in a condensed style, and it is sure to captivate One Piece fans all over again!







Furthermore, on October 20, a special 25th Anniversary Episode will air, recognizing One Piece’s enduring history with a 30-minute ensemble depicting the Straw Hat crew’s reunion from the perspective of the non-pirates. The novel takes place in the Sabaody Archipelago after the Summit War, and follows the protagonist, a young girl and Nami lover, as she embarks on a modest journey. Fans may also look forward to the episode being available on Crunchyroll.

One Piece, based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga, follows the exploits of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they seek the ultimate treasure, The One Piece, and become Pirate King. This long-running series continues to attract viewers all over the world with its distinct blend of action, humor, and genuine storytelling.
