Netflix Announces ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Premiere Date and Final Season in 2025

Netflix has officially unveiled the premiere date for the highly anticipated second season of its groundbreaking series Squid Game. The new season is set to drop on December 26, 2024, with the final season scheduled for release in 2025. This exciting announcement was shared with fans worldwide through a touching letter from Hwang Dong-hyuk, the visionary Executive Producer, Writer, and Director behind the series.

About ‘Squid Game’ Season 2

Squid Game Season 2 picks up three years after the harrowing events of the first season. Player 456, Gi-hun, remains driven to uncover the elusive figures behind the deadly game and put an end to their cruel sport. Using his newfound wealth from the previous season, Gi-hun embarks on a quest to locate the mysterious man in a sharp suit who was last seen playing ddakji in the subway. However, his search soon reveals that dismantling the organization will be far more perilous than anticipated. To end the game once and for all, Gi-hun must re-enter the very arena of horror he once escaped.

Hwang Dong-hyuk returns as the series’ director, writer, and producer, continuing his role after making history at the 74th Primetime Emmys® as the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. The cast for Season 2 includes returning stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo.
