JFK Airport
The airport handled over 62.5 million passengers in 2019, ranking as the busiest international air passenger gateway into North America, the 20th-busiest airport in the world. It is also the 6th-busiest airport in the United States, and the busiest airport of the six airports in the New York airport system.
JFK (John F. Kennedy) airport is one of the largest airports I’ve ever visited, so the first question is how to easily and affordably reach all the famous tourist attractions.
Keep your luggage at JFK
Since you don’t want to lug your luggage around a city like New York, leaving your bags at the airport is probably a good idea. Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 both have a baggage storage area. You can use the Air Train to reach them. Air Train instructions are posted throughout the airport, or you can ask the airport staff for assistance.

If you intend to store your luggage for nearly twenty-four hours, the storage fee is not inexpensive. The cost of your luggage can increase proportionally to its size. This can cost between $15 and $25, depending on the size of your bag. In addition, you will be required to open your bags for security purposes, which can be a hassle.
How To Reach Times Square, Manhattan New York:
The quickest way to reach Times Square in Manhattan is by taxi, Uber, or Lyft. In less than 30 minutes, they can transport you for $65 per ride, which can be quite costly, especially if you are traveling alone.
If you’re a stingy traveller like me. To reach Jamaica Station, you must take the Air Train from the JFK Terminals.
This ride is free, so payment is not required until Jamaica Station. Once you reach Jamaica Station, you must purchase a Metrocard and pay your fare. This Metrocard is valid for use on trains and buses.
You would be required to walk to Pennsylvania Station. Once, you must travel to 34 St – Penn Station. This train will take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street. Times Square in Manhattan, New York is just a short walk from the 42 St – Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Times Square’s most famous and popular tourist attraction is the Times Square Ball. This is where the New Year’s Eve ball would drop every year. It is a 10 to 15-minute walk.
As it can become quite crowded during the day, the best time to visit would be late afternoon.

Additionally, there are numerous shopping districts where you can purchase an abundance of New York-themed t-shirts, caps, and memorabilia.

There are multiple safe options for buying food or beverages from street vendors. You can also purchase from well-known vendors if you feel more comfortable eating at an upscale restaurant.
Be Aware:
Be on the lookout for walking mascots around Times Square, such as Disney characters. They will attempt to pose for your photo or video or even take a photo with you. Then they will charge you one dollar per mascot.

Some photographers will take a photo of you and then approach you to collect payment for the photo.
Tips:
Purchase your snacks and beverages: If you want to save money, pack some chips or cookies in your bag. Bring along a tumbler of cold water as well. You will be surprised by the amount of walking you do and the amount of money you can save by following this simple tip!
If you don’t have a selfie stick or tripod, you can always ask someone else to take your photo or video. Be wary of those who request a photograph, as not everyone is trustworthy. You can ask nearby tourists or even the police to photograph you. The police are abundant in Times Square and will gladly take your picture. You may also request and take a photo with them!
Walking around Times Square can be exhausting, so why not take a break and visit Bryant Park? It is a tranquil park where many people sit or even practice yoga. In addition, there are numerous street vendors selling food and beverages.
