Established local celebrity singer-songwriter Tay Kewei returns with her highly anticipated new single “In Your Eyes” Supposedly, the song is a tribute to Kewei and Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista’s bilingual collaboration “Please Be Careful With My Heart” from 2010.
After five years, Tay Kewei assembles a crew to film her music video in Hong Kong with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) assistance. In the music video, Kewei can be seen in five different fashions and six different scenic locations, echoing the song’s theme of showcasing various facets of one’s personality. While savouring the music, fans can anticipate a visual feast. On June 15, the official music video will debut worldwide on Cross Ratio Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
In the song, Kewei demonstrates that despite her beauty and talent, she will always find the finest version of herself in her significant other. Kewei expresses that she can be herself in front of her considerable other despite her insecurities and faults. Her insecurities and flaws transform into courage in the eyes of the person she adores.
Part of the 20th-anniversary campaign for Christian Bautista’s music industry career, with Kewei representing Singapore alongside regional artists Julie Anne San Jose, Morissette, and Ben&Ben.
At the 16th Singapore Hit Awards, her rendition of “Please Be Careful With My Heart” with Christian earned her the Local New Artist (Media’s Choice) title.

Kewei held several solo and group concerts in Hong Kong due to his album sales ranking fourth place. Her most recent performance in Hong Kong was at the 2018 Hong Kong Asian Pop Music Festival, where she performed as a special guest. The music video was shot in six renowned locations: Yau Ma Tei, Nai Chung Beach, PMQ, West Kowloon Art Park, Sai Wan Swimming Shed, and Bank Street Tram Station.
Tay Kewei began her career as a backup singer for superstars David Tao, A-Mei, and JJ Lin. Since then, she has released seven full-length albums and one EP, which burst into the Asia market regionally. Kewei, also known as the “angel of harmony,” performs on various instruments, including the guitar, ukulele, and piano, but the erhu is the instrument that garners the most attention.
Kewei has participated in numerous events and performances, including the NDP Parade 2014, Celebrate SG50 Countdown concert, Temasek Holdings’ Jubilee at the Botanic Gardens, SEA Games 2015, ASEAN-China Friendship Concert, and The Eye Ball 2017 at Goodwood Park Hotel. In March 2022, she and Alfred Sim performed a full-scale concert entitled RE: BIRTH. Local and international media have covered the long-awaited show with interest.
She won the ‘Young Local Artist Of The Year’ at the 25th Compass (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore) Awards.
