The Philippine Red Cross Is Supported By SM Hotels

SM Hotels is assisting the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in its efforts to establish isolation facilities in the National Capital Region to help combat COVID-19 spread. SM Hotels’ various locations donated about 5,000 different linens, which PRC used in the facilities.

“SM Hotels is proud to be a part of this worthwhile project as one of the tourist industry’s important players. With the growing number of people infected with COVID-19, this initiative will undoubtedly aid in reducing the scarcity of facilities for Covid patients. Ms. Peggy E. Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC), said, “The Philippine Red Cross continues to be a key stakeholder in supporting the government’s drive to curtail the spread of the virus with the realization of these facilities, and we are more than happy to be one of its partners in this initiative.”

Senator Richard J. Gordon, Chairman and CEO of the PRC, claims that the organization’s isolation facilities have so far served 253 asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
A number of its hotels functioned as quarantine hotels during the early stages of the pandemic, hosting OFWs and returning Filipinos, in addition to aiding the Philippine Red Cross. Until now, several establishments have continued to accept quarantined visitors.

As it continues to serve its guests, SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. ensures their safety by implementing its SustainablySafe Program, which encompasses comprehensive and holistic policies as well as efficient and methodical procedures in everyday operations. The program exemplifies SMHCC’s values, which motivate the company to remain committed, thankful, and thoughtful.
