Following a smash start to the year in which Korean series Big Bet captured the cultural zeitgeist and became the most viewed Disney+ Original Series in Korea in its 1st week, Disney+ unveiled today its first look at a slew of upcoming Korean Originals and Currents set to debut on the service in 2023.

Disney+ Korean Shows

Featuring clips from K-pop concerts and documentaries, as well as thrilling crime dramas, variety shows, and workplace comedies, today’s trailer provides fans of world-class Korean content a taste of what they can anticipate from Disney+ in the coming months.

Moving

When three adolescents discover they’ve inherited incredible superpowers from their secret agent parents, government agencies around the globe will work to stop them in their tracks. Moving, an original series based on the renowned webcomic of the same name by Kang Full, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ later this year.

The Greatest Evil

Sset in 1990s Korea, stars Ji Changwook, Lim Semi and Wi Hajoon, follows a fictional investigative task force as their undercover investigator, Kang Joonmo, infiltrates a new criminal organization responsible for feeding the Korea, China, Japan drug trafficking triangle. Soon, The Worst of Evil will be available exclusively on Disney+.

Vigilante

After witnessing the murder of his mother and the subsequent failure of the legal system, Kim Jiyong will devote his life to exacting vengeance on unrepentant criminals. The new grim Korean drama Vigilante, starring Nam Joohyuk as the star student and vengeful vigilante Kim Jiyong, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ later this year.

Shadow Detective’s Season 2

Shadow Detective will return with a second season in 2023, exclusive to Disney+, following a nail-biting conclusion in which detective Taekrok’s aspirations were dashed instantly.

Han River Authorities

Featuring Kwone Sangwoo and Kim Hiewon, this upcoming fictional comedy action series follows the zany exploits of Seoul’s Han River Police Force as they patrol the waterways and respond to emergencies, including terrorist attacks, accidents, and more.

RACE

When everyone in the company discovers several recent hires were made as part of a created diversity program, Yoonjo must overcome the impossible to earn their approval. This upcoming workplace comedy, starring Lee Yeonhee, Moon Sori, Hong Jonghyun, and Jung Yunho, will exclusively premiere on Disney+ on May 10.

SUGA: Road to D-DAY:

This documentary follows SUGA of 21st century pop icons BTS as he travels the globe to pursue musical inspiration for his upcoming album D-DAY. Throughout the documentary, viewers will see the performer at his most vulnerable. He discusses his writer’s block with other musicians and delves into his most traumatic memories to compose lyrics for several of his most recent songs.
