tvN and Cignal TV offers Filipino-dubbed Korean movies
tvN has premiered tvN Movies Pinoy and tvN Premium, two linear TV channels, in collaboration with Cignal TV, the dominant pay TV provider in the Philippines.
The Tagalog-dubbed channel tvN Movies Pinoy provides Filipino audiences with an engaging exploration of Korean cinema in their native tongue. It is a complementary channel to tvN Premium, an HD channel showcasing the most recent Korean dramas and television programs.
TvN Premium has taken over for tvN Asia, which is now airing on channel 237, while tvN Movies Pinoy is now accessible to Cignal subscribers on channel 39. Additionally, tvN Movies Pinoy is accessible via Video-on-Demand (VOD) via Cignal Play, the streaming platform of Cignal TV.
tvN Movies Pinoy provides Filipino viewers with an extensive selection of films spanning various genres. A lot of well-known Korean stars and actresses are in these movies, like Hyun-bin, Son Ye-jin, D.O., Don Lee, Lee Byung-hun, and many more. tvN Movies Pinoy caters to the diverse tastes and interests of Filipino viewers by showing thrilling romantic dramas, action-packed blockbusters, and heartwarming comedies.
The upcoming Korean films of 2023 will likely be shown, such as “My Worst Neighbour,” an inspiring sports film starring veteran actor Jin Sun-Kyu and Cha Tae-hyun (stars of “My Puppy” and “Countdown”); “My Worst Neighbour” is a romantic comedy starring Lee Ji-hoon and Han Seung-yeon about a neighbor with singing ambitions; and “The Glorious My Revenge” is an adrenaline-inducking detective thriller featuring Heo Jun-seok and Nam Bo-ra.
Viewers can also witness “The Moon” in December, an action thriller starring superstar D.O. (EXO) as an astronaut who attempts to land on the moon, just four months after its theatrical debut in Korea and the Philippines. Starring A-list Korean actors Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Min-jung, the comedy “Switch” is another film that Pinoy fans can appreciate. It’s about a famous person and a regular person trading identities.
Additionally, tvN Premium, which features the most recent Korean dramas, including “Not Others” (based on the webtoon of the same name and starring Jeon Hye-jin, Sooyoung (from SNSD), Ahn Jae-wook, and Park Sung-hoon), is made available to Cignal TV subscribers through the partnership. Starting on November 8, “Not Others” looks at how a mother and daughter love and hate each other.
We are grateful to partner with Cignal TV to be first to bring tvN Movies to the Philippines. By dubbing the films in the local language, we appeal to a wider audience. Together with Korean dramas on tvN Premium, this is a surefire entertainment combo for everyone.”
“We are pleased to add tvN Premium and tvN Movies Pinoy to our channel lineup,” “Consistent with our commitment to give Cignal subscribers the best options to choose from, this partnership allows us to offer them the latest Korean shows, and the best Korean films in Filipino.” Cignal TV’s President and CEO Jane J. Basas.
