Hikaru Utada Drops New Single and Music Video for “Mine or Yours”

On May 2, Hikaru Utada released a new single titled Mine or Yours. The song was also performed for the first time on the YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE. The performance reached over 2 million views in two days and landed at No. 7 on YouTube Japan’s trending chart.

Directed by Tomokazu Yamada, who also worked on the videos for Gold -Mata Au Hi Made- and Nanairo Demo Nai Hana (A Flower of No Color), the video takes a cinematic approach to match the mood and tone of the song.

Earlier this year, Utada released several remixes of Electricity, a track originally featured on their 2024 best-of album. The remixes include versions by Karen Nyame KG, Arca and salute. The song was also used as an encore during the SCIENCE FICTION tour and has become a key track in Utada’s recent releases.

In April, Utada returned to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival after a three-year break. This followed performances in Taiwan and Hong Kong last year, continuing to build on their international presence.
