Home Credit Philippines (HCPH) is making strides to ensure that every member of its workforce feels valued and supported. The consumer finance leader is going the extra mile by extending its medical benefits program to include domestic partners as dependents. This move is all about fostering a work environment that cares for employees in every aspect of their lives.

Chief People Officer of Home Credit Philippines, Alpha Omega Aquino, explains, “Our aim is to create a workplace where everyone feels at home, where they’re not just another employee but an important part of our family. By doing so, we’re empowering our employees to bring their best selves to work.”

So, what does this mean? Now, eligible employees can share their Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coverage with their domestic partners. Of course, there are a few conditions. Both the employee and their partner should be single, not previously married, and not related by blood. The partner should also be an adult aged between 18 and 65.

Getting your partner on board is simple. You need to provide a few documents for the medical benefits program. These include a certificate from your barangay that confirms your cohabitation, a certified copy of your partner’s birth certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and a PSA certificate that states they’re not married (CENOMAR).

Alpha Omega Aquino adds, “We’re not just extending benefits; we’re extending care. This program covers a lot—from regular check-ups and tests to emergency care, therapy, mental health support, and even pre-existing conditions.”

This is all part of Home Credit’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). It complements their initiative from 2021, where they started offering medical benefits to same-sex partners. This inclusive mindset isn’t just lip service; it’s already making a difference in the lives of many employees.

Aquino emphasizes, “Our employees are the heart of our success. We’re dedicated to creating a work environment where differences are celebrated and everyone feels heard and respected. Our latest recognition at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is a testament to our commitment.”

The company recently earned a Gold Stevie® award for its Innovative Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion. This award recognizes their efforts in creating a workplace where diversity isn’t just a buzzword but a living reality.
