Hwang Min Hyun Unveils Exciting Details at Press Conference in Manila

South Korean actor and Kpop idol Hwang Min Hyun went back to Manila last weekend for his 2023 HWANG MIN HYUN MINI CONCERT <UNVEIL> IN MANILA. But before the show and his reunion with his PH Hwangdo, Hwang Min Hyun sat down with some of his lucky fans who won the fan sign event, and members of the press for a quick Q&A which was held at the Novotel Manila last Saturday, October 7, 2023.

The idol-actor was beaming, albeit shyly, as he entered the stage of the intimate venue to greet his fans. He revealed that he was super excited for this mini concert because it has been a while since he last visited Manila. “I hope you’ll all come and enjoy what we have prepared for the mini concert tomorrow,” Hwang Min Hyun said.

Hwang Min Hyun joins our growing list of favorite Kpop Idol – Kdrama Actors rolled into one as he continues to prove his longevity in the industry. “I have a lot of things that I still have to unveil in front of you guys, so please look forward to it,” the ISFJ Korean star said when asked what concepts he would like to explore next in terms of his music. “I want to do my music for a very long time.”

Meanwhile, when it comes to acting, Hwang Min Hyun revealed that he really wants to try a variety of roles. “I don’t have a role that I specifically want to do, but if someone offers me a new character, I love the process where I have to study about it,” he said, making sure that in every role he gets, he gets really involved in it to portray the character more effectively.

When asked about his recent drama “My Lovely Liar”, Hwang Min Hyun said that he had so much fun during the whole filming. He also shared his favorite scene from the drama, which was the camping scene.

“The director did not give us specific instructions on what to do, he just told us to feel at home and be very relaxed as if it’s really a camping trip with your girlfriend,” he said, as the fans in the audience were all agreeing through their cheers. “There was a part where I accidentally touched the charcoal. I thought the director wouldn’t use that but it came out as a very casual scene, very natural,” he added.

And when asked if he would prefer to have a photogenic memory or the ability to hear the lies of others, he replied, “I would rather have a photogenic memory. Because just like in the drama, if you have the ability to listen to other people’s lies, life seems hard and tiring,” the 95-liner said.

Hwang Min Hyun’s “Hidden Side”

Just like one of his recent songs “Hidden Side”, Hwang Min Hyun unveiled interesting details about him during his Manila press conference.

For instance, he has a spontaneous side, especially when it comes to traveling. “I really really love traveling. There are a lot of countries that I have not yet visited so far. But in the future, if I get more time, what I really want to do is to just pack and travel the world with just a simple backpack,” he said.

When asked where he would like to go in the Philippines, he responded with one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country which is Boracay. “I really love nature. I heard that Boracay is a wonderful place, and it’s famous for its sunset. I really want to go to Boracay and capture photos of the sunset and share it with my fans.

Speaking of taking pictures, Hwang Min Hyun is also a photography enthusiast. In fact, he even has a separate Instagram account dedicated to photos he took, mostly from his travels. The host then asked if he had his camera at that time, what moment would he like to capture the most?

“If I have a camera right now, of course I would like to capture everyone who is here right now. The media and also my fans,” he responded, making the Hwangdo swoon even more.

Hwangdo: Hwang Min Hyun’s Universe

In both the press conference and his fan meeting, it was evident how the idol-actor would always mention his Hwangdo, or the name he calls his fans. Before singing a song, he will dedicate it to his fans. And even after a performance, he would give a back story how he had always wanted to sing the song for his Hwangdo, albeit notes were too high for him, he worked harder by studying and practicing a lot till he could perform it.

“So basically, the song I want to sing for my Hwangdo is “Universe” specifically the lines “You have to be happy because you are my universe”, he said. “That’s what I want to tell my fans, I hope you will be happy in your life,” Hwang Min Hyun added with full sincerity.

Before the press conference ended, he said he really prepared something while taking out a piece of paper that he adorably hid in his pocket, “Maraming salamat po! Mahal ko kayo!” the man of the hour shyly said in Filipino–making his fans anticipate his mini concert even more.
