From Beloved K-Drama Roles to Real-Life Charisma: Ahn Hyo Seop Shines at Bench Fan Meeting in Manila
K-drama fans recognize him from his roles as Ha Ram in Lovers of the Red Sky, CEO Kang Tae Moo in Business Proposal, Seo Woo Jin in Dr. Romantic, and Nam Si Heon in A Time Called You. Now, fans had the exciting opportunity to witness the charismatic South Korean actor Ahn Hyo Seop in person as he took the stage at his much anticipated ‘The Present Show’: Here and Now Fan Meeting in Manila.
Titled “Here and Now,” Ahn Hyo Seop conveyed his desire for fans to experience happiness in the present moment alongside him. Fans from all over the country gathered to witness the K-drama star’s charm, making the night a very memorable memory for his beloved Pauljjaks.

Happy Hour with Hyo Seop
With his buttery voice and his heart-fluttering looks, Ahn Hyo Seop wowed the fans as he opened the show with his rendition of I’m Your Man. The show’s first segment entitled “Happy Hour” allowed us to get to know the actor better through a series of questions. During this segment, Hyo Seop expressed his love for nature and recommended Seoul Forest as one of the must-visit destinations for first-time tourists in Seoul. When asked about an attraction in South Korea that he wanted to visit, the actor replied “If I get the chance, I would love to visit places with not much people where I can enjoy nature.”
We also got to get a glimpse of Hyo Seop’s life before he was an actor. He mentioned that he lived a quiet life and tried his best not to be a headache to his parents, spending most of his time going back and forth to the library and school. He also shared that he used to play the violin as a students, which excited a lot of fans in the audience.
Shooting Time
The second segment showed how Filipino fans ranked the actor’s roles in famous series where his role as Kang Taemu from Business Proposal ranked 1st, Dr. Seo Woojin from Dr. Romantic ranking 2nd, and Haram from Lovers of the Red Sky ranking 3rd. The actor shared how much he enjoyed the different ranking from each country, stating that it shows what type of shows different countries like.
For each character, letters from fans stating what his character in that drama meant to them were chosen to be read to Ahn Hyo Seop. Afterwards, the fans got to watch famous clips from each drama with Ahn Hyo Seop while the actor shared some fun behind the scenes stories for each clip.
In fact, he shared that his character as Woojin was, initially, a pessimistic character and he, himself, was quite pessimistic during the initial shoots too. However, as Woojin entered Doldam and grow as a doctor, Actor Ahn Hyo Seop also experienced this growth.
Ahn Hyo Seop’s Charm
The crowd started to go wild as Ahn Hyo Seop showcased his dancing talent as he dances to Taeyang’s “VIBE”. After his star-strucking performances, he then continued to perform challenges for the fans such as the AKMU ‘Love Lee’ Challenge, a Model Runway Challenge, and a Scene Re-enactment in English Challenge.
Lucky fans were also chosen to take a photo with the actor and were given shirts from Bench. One of the most memorable scene re-enactments was from the actor’s most recent drama, ‘A Time Called You’, where he personally translated the famous line, “No matter what time you’re in, I’ll always find you”, for the fans.
Ahn Hyo Seop’s Talent
During this part of the event, Ahn Hyo Seop displayed his musical talent by performing on the piano for his Filipino fans. He recreated a scene from the popular drama ‘Business Proposal’ by playing ‘River Flows in You.’ Additionally, the actor delighted the audience by playing and singing songs such as ‘Don’t Worry Dear’ from the ‘Reply 1988’ OST, ‘Let It Be’ by The Beatles, and ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You’ from a music book he had kept for over a decade. His sweet, melodious voice added to the excitement of the fans’ enjoyable evening.
Ahn Hyo Seop’s Message
As he sang his heartfelt gratitude to the fans, Ahn Hyo Seop retrieved a handwritten note to read, sincerely expressing his feelings to his supporters. He conveyed, “During those days, I look around me. You’ve always been by my side. All the love you’ve shown me, I want to reciprocate with love as well. Because of you, I exist. Thank you for allowing me to exist. I love you.” The fan meeting concluded with the actor’s final song, his rendition of Kim Dong Ryul’s “Thanks,” as he extended his appreciation to the fans for their warm welcome and unwavering support.
