NCT JAEHYUN releases solo debut “J-The First Album” and “Smoke” music video
Get ready to dive into R&B music as soloist Jaehyun debuts with his first studio album “J.”
K-pop group NCT member Jaehyun introduces new sides of himself with the remarkable launch of his first solo album “J – The First Album” and the music video for its title track “Smoke” on Monday, August 26.
From his habit of writing his initial “J” on belongings to naming his much-awaited first studio album afterward. The musician finds great inspiration in his strong individuality, musical preferences, and skillful craft, which is evident in his solo work.
Listeners will have to pump up the AC with “Smoke” music video which showcases main character energy of Jaehyun in a soulful R&B performance depicting a mysterious character lurking in an unsetting hotel.
We are really thrilled and seated because soloist Jeong Jaehyun is stepping up as a singer and songwriter. In fact, he is also the only lyricist of the same music and “Dandelion.”
As a member of NCT 127, a fixed sub-unit of NCT, he demonstrated his exceptional versatility by overseeing the creative direction, writing, and composition of eight tracks on the album – including “Roses,” “Flamin’ Hot Lemon,” and “Can’t Get You.”
“I wanted to show myself even better through the album, so I wanted to show the genres I relate to,” Jaehyun shares in a documentary video The Journey of “J.”
He was born on February 14 which earned him the nickname Valentine Boy, which is evident in his endearing and passionate vocals for the piano-accompanied love song “Completely” and the upbeat riffs of “Easy.”
He gave the fans access to even more thrilling listening sessions on the day of the album release. Fans could buy, listen to, and try drinks that were styled after “J” album in different forms: the J version, the Money Clip version, and the Keyring version.
In 2013, Jaehyun (재현) whose real name is Jeong Yuno (정윤오) joined SMROOKIES, the pre-debut team of his agency SM Entertainment. He then officially became an official member of NCT with its first unit NCT U with their first song “The 7th Sense” in 2016.
Prior to his solo debut, he also released digital singles “Try Again” featuring d.ear (2017), “Forever Only” (2022), and “Horizon” (2023).
The year 2024 is Jaehyun’s time to shine as he was recently chosen as an ambassador of the South Korean cosmetic brand CLIO. On July, he also debuted as an actor for movie “You’ll Die in 6 Hours.”
