The accurate side-mounted fingerprint scanner rarely required a second attempt to unlock the smartphone. The 120Hz refresh rate also made the user interface feel extremely fluid.

5,000mAh battery

The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G’s battery life was commendable. With my usage, the 5,000mAh battery easily lasted longer than a day. In our HD video loop endurance test, the phone lasted 18 hours and 24 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G was quick to acquire focus and had no trouble adjusting exposure. It also took excellent close-up shots, but Portrait Mode requires a bit of patience and notifies you when it’s complete. The daytime images were sharp and detailed. The ultra-wide camera captured photos with a similar color tone to the primary camera, which was a plus, but they were less detailed. Near the edges of the frame, there was very little barrel distortion in ultra-wide photographs.
