The SM Mall of Asia Arena was glowing pearl aqua last January 28, 2023, for Choi Minho’s first solo fan meeting in Manila, Philippines. Dubbed as a “quadruple threat” by the program host Sam Oh, SHINee’s Flaming Charisma showcased his flawless talents in singing, dancing, rapping, and even acting in just one night.

Add to that how he has been a consistently well-loved idol to his fans for over a decade. Here are some highlights from this beautiful reunion of Shine World (SHAWOLs) and SHINee’s Choi Minho.

A PASSIONATE PERFORMER

Choi Minho opened his Manila fan meeting with a performance of his single Heartbreak. Throughout his performances, he wowed fans with his stable vocals and smooth choreo. It was a treat to watch these performances live. In the middle of the fan meet, Minho also performed a SHINee medley, making his fans miss the 2nd generation K-pop group even more (SHINee in Manila juseyo?). He included their group songs Atlantis, Don’t Call Me, Kiss Kiss, and Code.

Other performances that night are Runaway, Chase, and I’m Home as the closing numberIt was the first time Minho performed some of these songs live in the Philippines, a big FINALLY for his fans who’ve waited for this day to happen.

“First of all I am so happy that the first country I was able to visit (for this fan meeting tour) is the Philippines,” he said. “Did you miss me? I missed you too. So much.”

Minho last visited Manila with his group SHINee in 2017 for the One K Global Peace Concert.

FAN SERVICE KING

Aside from being a talented performer on stage, Choi Minho proved that he is Mister Fan Service by putting on his game face mode that night.

“I’m so excited for my first solo fan meeting here in Manila. I’ve prepared a lot of special segments for this.”

In between his missions with his lucky fans, Minho tried onstage the traditional Filipino clothing Barong Tagalog and even learned the Philippine folk dance Pandanggo on the spot! What a total charmer.

Other costumes Minho gamely wore on stage that night included a fancy crown that made him look like a real-life Disney Prince and a traditional Korean ensemble. At the same time, he reenacted a scene from the Korean Drama Alchemy of Souls. He also put on a special forces unit vest to reenact a scene from the hit Kdrama Descendants of the Sun, which we all know also starred his co-member Onew!

However, a highlight from this fan meeting was when Minho was asked to do a new local dance challenge called Dati-Dati by Filipino performer Sarah Geronimo. His first time hearing about it, a Filo SHAWOL volunteered to demonstrate the steps, and in one go, Minho danced to Dati-Dati, adding his flair to it!

It was fun to watch Minho wearing his different hats that night, from being an actor, an idol, a real trooper, and the best in every SHAWOL’s heart!

14 YEARS WITH SHINEE WORLD

“To be honest I was very nervous and excited, but now that I have shown my performances, I hope I have created unforgettable moments with you guys. I think that it’s destiny that we get to meet each other again, and have a good time.”

Choi Minho made sure to put the fun in the fan meeting with many games for his SHAWOLs.

His first mission was to copy the Lucifer-inspired pose of a lucky fan, which he did so in a second! He also had a group pose mission that called for more lucky SHAWOLs to play with him on stage. After every task, Minho made sure to give a hug or a handshake to everyone he played with. He was lovable to watch.

When asked what a lucky moment is for this K-pop idol, he responded, “I think I am luckiest when I get to go too far distances to meet people I love. Like you.”

During his last song, I’m Home, Minho noticed the crowd pointing to a banner which read “WE WANT SHINEE WORLD CONCERT VI IN THE PHILIPPINES”. To which he replied,

“I will also make sure next time to come with the other members. Till then, I hope you guys stay healthy and happy. I love the Philippines! See you again! You guys are my hope.”

What an unforgettable and heartwarming night for every Filipino SHAWOL, and holding on to a promise that it wouldn’t be the last time. *manifesting*
