SHINee’s Taemin Discusses Hosting ‘Road To Kingdom: ACE OF ACE’ and His Excitement for New Music

SHINee’s Taemin continues to captivate fans as he graces the cover of Elle Korea’s September issue. The iconic artist, now in his 17th year since debut, opened up in an interview following his stunning photo shoot, sharing insights into his enduring appeal, new musical ventures, and the cherished memories he’s created with his fellow SHINee members.

When asked about his ability to attract new fans even after nearly two decades in the industry, Taemin expressed deep gratitude. “If that’s true, I’m incredibly thankful,” he said. “There aren’t many teams that have remained active for as long as we have, both as SHINee and as solo artists. I want to become a lasting memory for people.”

As Taemin gears up for his first solo world tour and celebrates the release of his latest mini album, “ETERNAL,” he shared his hopes for the impact of his new music. “I hope that my new song can also become a nostalgic track for people 10 years from now,” he remarked.

The conversation also touched on the concept trailer for “ETERNAL,” which featured SHINee’s birth flower, the pansy. Taemin explained the symbolic significance behind this choice: “Since the flower symbolizes the moment I debuted, I wanted to convey that no matter where I am, I will always carry my identity as Taemin.”

In addition to his musical pursuits, Taemin is set to take on his first solo MC role in the upcoming Mnet show “Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE,” which premieres in September. Speaking about this new challenge, Taemin expressed his appreciation for the opportunity, saying, “I’m grateful that many junior artists have chosen me as their role model. I thought that if I were to be the MC for this program featuring male idol groups, it could become a symbolic memory for me, something I can look back on proudly as I grow older.”

When asked to reflect on his proudest achievement since debuting with SHINee in 2008, Taemin’s response was heartfelt. “It’s the journey I’ve shared with my fellow SHINee members,” he said. “We never gave up and kept moving forward together. I’m thankful to live a life where so many people feel connected to us and cheer us on.”
